No, it wouldn't be; it just looked rubbish.

My fiance's little nephew threw up all over the dinner table last night...and I did actually think to myself at the time "oh well, at least it looks better than our away guernsey".

Since you mention it, Nightmare, a few carrots and some peas would improve A.

I would have thought that the reason that so many people were upset about the silver thing, wasn't necessarily becuase of its deign but rather that it wasn't just red and blue.

Would that be a fair assumption?

1. The silver predominated over the red and blue and means nothing to MFC.

2. The jumper's design had no connection with MFC, demons or the Clubs history.

3. It actually clashed with other sides.

4. It facilitated evidence for Vlad to confirm that MFC does not stand for anything. On the basis of that jumper its spot on.

I think some of the blue on red guernseys suggested here are preferable.

But I think the "white" options offered are at least more symbolic of MFC with the MFC or demons logo. Does not mean I like them. I just dont detest them as much as the abomination we wore this year.

Pretty spot on, Rhino. The silver abomination reeked of AFL, corporate, marketing department dross. "Hey! Here's an idea: 5 year old Melbourne fans will want to use it for a pyjama top." The rest of us wouldn't use it to clean our cars.

I don't like the way we have been forced to accept that white (or any third colour) must be included on our clash strip. There is no white on Adelaide's nor Essendon's away strips. Both of those use red as the predominant colour to avoid the clash that normally exists with the blue/black of the normal jumpers. I can't understand why design B with a red background can't work for us, yet the same principle works fine for the Crows and Bombers.

Anyhoo, I voted B. There were 406 votes, 51% of which were for B. I don't like the way the Demon logo has been changed (with the open eyes and more 'aggressive' look).

I wonder how many of you, who are acclaiming our rich and long history, know that at an early stage the MFC was known as the 'invincible whites.'

And this wasn't a reference to an exclusion of aborigines but because of the colour of the jumpers they wore.

Both are fine. Voted A, but B has some class to it.

I'm happy to have at least had the chance to vote on this one. I agree with much of the sentiment on here regarding the colours. White simply isn't the MFC, and unless they were going to do a complete throwback to the Invincible Whites days, then the new guernsey was going to be a cheap option. I've voted for B, since it's classier and neater than A. How a red guernsey with a blue MFC clashes with any team is beyond me.

Yeah, but we were also known for a short time as the Hot Socks, so perhaps we should opt for tights.

Ruined my day seeing these 2 designs, looks like as long as the AFL are handing out money we will bend over for them.

I'm going option 1 though, bring back the demon. Option 2 looks too much like a rip off Carlton guernsey. Don't worry if you think it's outdated, it'll be gone in 2 years when the AFL decides Melbourne must introduce all the colours of the rainbow into their clash guernsey.

This is a great way to kill off our brand even more, no wonder we are insignificant to the rest of the league.

Surely the red jumper we had a few years back was enough evidence that it solved any clash problems.

I voted Option B.... don't really like either. Want the demon back, but not that ugly demon !!!! BUT don't want WHITE either.....so I have sent an email to the club stating so. I would rather have history than that demon.

Send emails to the club and maybe they might delay the decision. Alot of supporters not voting because of the white. I reminded the club that our colours are RED and BLUE !!!!!

This is my reply from the club......

Thank you for your feedback and thanks for voting today. It is an AFL requirement for the basis of the clash strip to be a light colour, so as to avoid clashes with other clubs whose players wear a dark strip.

Kind Regards MFC.

So I replied saying Essendon has no white !!!

Good one True Believer. Wonder if they will reply to that?

I'm sending one now.

I went for the MFC logo keeping some sort of traditional look. Should be solid Red with blue logo tho.

It is an absolute disgrace that anyone can vote. This should be a member only vote. Absolutely pathetic!!

Option A- 50%

Option B- 50%

hhaha what happens if its a draw haha

I voted for B. It's by far the best of the two, version A is a shocker.

I don't want my club getting around with a character winking on the

front of the jumper. VOTE FOR B!

How do you get 50% each when there is an odd number of votes?

Both jumpers look great. However they should have used the old demon logo. voted B

Wouldn't the royal blue we used to wear be considered a light colour?

Combined with white shorts would look even lighter.

Wish there was something that could be done to stop this.
