Buckley - tried but failed

He fustrated me more than any other player tonight. Everytime he got the ball, he ran twenty metres then either turned it over by foot or hand.

Maric - exciting and talented

On a positive side Maric looks very calm under pressure and his skills in the wet were great.

you gotta give the guy some credit though, yes he turns it over at times but when he breaks the lines it's really the only time we look like doing something creative. he will be a key part of our future imo.

Whelan can hold his head up high.

Junior tries as always, but he is just not that good.

Maric and Martin are the only two reasons why I stuck it out till three quarter time despite being extremely sick (wasn't gonna miss two games in a row, despite spending last Friday afternoon in hospital).

Carroll is terrible, and White played like he couldn't care less. Bruce's first half was poor as well, but at least he got better in the third.

Bucks, not the greatest of games but there were many others, when he tries to break, our boys don't work off the ball for him and shepherd. The Geelong players do in spades. Look at Selwood and others like Kelly and Bartel, they shepherd and give their teammate space to run into. Our boys don't work as hard off the ball to create.

carroll is finished.

Totally agree. Clumsy & indecisive. Evertime he kicks or handballs the ball he "telegraphs" it and the opposition know what he is going to do, then they close it down when the possession is in transit. What happens then? Turnover. Goal.

I agree deanox.

Every one.

A couple of additions: -

Bartram - tries his best

Bate - not a KPP (yep)

Bruce - did a good job on stevie johnson

Buckley - must improve reflexes

Carroll - clumsy awkward & indecisive

Dunn - doesnt work both-ways - (yep - good defensively)

Frawley - mistakes, promising glimpses

Green - no direct opponent (no right foot)

C.Johnson - down on output

P.Johnson - invisible at stoppages

Jones - needs better disposal (or 'needs a hand')

McDonald - age wearies him (blue collar worker)

Maric - showed footy smarts

Martin - strong in the air

Morton - improved disposal

Sylvia - needs a preseason (Definitely) - IMO he should of been put on Ablett - so G.Ablett would teach him a thing or too.

Warnock - backup defender only

Wheatley - long kicks nowhere

Whelan - typical wheelan game

White - games gone by (not accountable - yet still - only worries about his opponent)

Valenti - bled red n blue (Is it me, or was he the one who showed the most strength out there for Mfc?)

Wonaeamirri - injured by halftime (all at sea)

Whelan can hold his head up high.

Junior tries as always, but he is just not that good.

Bruce kept S.Johnson very quiet, but it didnt worry the Cats who kept the Dees scoreless in 1st quarter. White back to Sandy.

I'll vomit if he evers plays for the MFC again.

Make that two.

Im dissapointed with a few players.

Wonaemirri was disgraceful tonight. It seemed although he was cherry-picking. Not doing the hard yards but instead hanging off at the back of packs. This isnt acceptable IMO.

I love Bartrams comittment, but he simply just isnt clean enough by both hand and foot.

Hope you feel better soon and that it wasn't too serious.

Thanks.

Still suffering the affects of a concussion, which probably explains why I wrote Sunday instead of Friday.

Too bad the concussion won't make me forget the way we played tonight :rolleyes:

I agree that White was utterly crap, but I don't think there was any signs of him not caring. That's extremely insulting to him IMO.

I recognise the fantastic contribution Jeff White has made to the Melbourne Football Club over a long period of time, but last night he just did not care to be out there.

Watching it on TV, as I assume you were, you wouldn't have seen what he was doing off the ball, or rather, what he wasn't doing. Didn't bother chasing, didn't go in hard enough, just did the bare minimum required. He knows he's gone in 3 rounds, and so I can kind of understand why he wouldn't have enjoyed being out there in the rain getting smashed. Still would have been nice for him to show a bit more urgency, given this may well have been his last game.

He also had just 11 hitouts, 0% to advantage.

PJ has 10 hitouts, 50% to advantage.

Bring back Jamar! :o

in defence of aussie, he was injurede in the first half, couldnt walk, was helped off the field, they worked on him for a bit, he went off down the race with medicos and didnt come back on until the second half, when he never got going. he clearly wasnt right.

did anyone else notice our rotations? they were over the top last night. makes me think a few of them wernt fit enough to run out the game...

i really hope jeff white wasn't thinking like that. guys that don't care or don't put in or don't play for the jumper should be weeded out of our football club, jeff white or any player on the list regardless of their level of development.

i was soo disappointed with the way white played last night. i understand he is close to the end, but , to get another opportunity (probably last) and to dish up that rubbish was absolutley pathetic from an experienced player. i have never regarded white as a champion, he's been a very good footballer for the melbourne football club. after a performance like last night i've lost significant respect for him.

If you were there, you would have seen that he didn't care.

If he cared he wouldn't have been jogging around in circles with his hands in the air calling for the ball.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
