  1. Not sure if this has been posted but Zerohangers 5 possible trade targets for Melbourne, hmmm: https://www.zerohanger.com/five-trade-targets-for-every-afl-team-melbourne-demons-152778/
  2. The AFL Website has released its draft order based on current ladder position: R1 Melb - Pick 11 R2 Melb - Pick 38 (tied to Syd) R3 Melb - Pick 42 (tied Saints) R3 Melb - Pick 47 (tied to Bulldogs) R4 Melb - Pick 67
  3. Goodwin said at the start of the season that in 2023 we started like a train and limped home. The 'learnings' from that, were that the team would be primed to finish the season strongly rather than start. The way we are playing at the moment it looks like it's going to plan - eg. Windsor looked cooked a few weeks ago and now is playing brilliant footy. The players, with few exceptions, look fit and fresh. Only one team has won a premiership at that ground too!
  4. 6 Rivers - splitting hairs with Lingers 5 Langdon 4 McVee gun 3 ANB 2 JVR 1 Windsor STiff - May, Kossie, Clarrie, Melksham etc
  5. Fence has already posted on this thread. Blow me down with a feather - it was another broken record post about bringing in Jefferson, just like the other three hundred.
  6. I feel we have the quinella and possibly the trifecta of umpiring duds with Williamson leading the charge by some margin. Where do the stats come from? Cheers
  7. Has to be related to Harvey down at Casey?
  8. I think they've moved him to defence this year.

Once or twice at night games in the middle of winter, I might have chucked a bottle of red in a thermos. Medicinal and no I didn't bring a cheese platter.

    Good grief!

Love the idea of having Allen. Deadset gun with a dodgy knee. I can't see him moving east. If he wasn't a fan of Simpson he'd be less likely to move now. Besides, we need a first-round mid to hit him lace out (and a ruck and a KPD etc etc). Shades of Ben Brown with a price tag but entering his prime.
  12. Great post Deespic! IMV Prendergastly was not overly maligned at all. He was perhaps the biggest recruiting potato of all time. I don't blame him though. He did his best, however, the club, in its wisdom, decided to make a forward scout the head of recruiting. We would have been better served by bringing in a person with experience in recruiting FFS. I think it was another of Schwabb's gems. Perhaps we couldn't attract a decent recruiting manager? I think we also need to factor in the calibre of the MFC as a destination club at the time. We were effectively trying to attract players to the local tip. We had crud facilities, hovered around the bottom of the ladder and had a list going nowhere.
  13. I love the way he runs out of trouble (which can be seen in the highlights footage above). Don't think he will ever be accused of being stagnant.
  14. +1 - Couldn't agree more!
  15. A unique way of giving Kossie 4 votes 👍
  16. Walking Civil War loves this post
  17. 1. Collingwood (no explanation required) 2. Carlton (leap-frogged Geelong this year because of their [censored] supporters) 3. Geelong (Chris Scott and Taxpayer Park) 4. Port (The whole team, coach and president give me the Jimmy Brits) 5. Freo - (Peter Bell is a [censored])
  18. I'd like to see him take on the game to see what he's got. I think he's got KPD attributes but he's a bit timid or lacking in confidence or something IMV.
  19. Farris-White gets another gig! It'll be interesting to see how he's progressed after a decent stint at the lower level.
  20. I'm not sure either, but I'd pay a lot for him!
  21. Pass on Silvagni (slow as a wet week), Lobb (see Jaded's post) Finn Callaghan - yes please! Pretty please!
  22. Kalani White is a key defender. This may change down the track but don't bank on him being Jeff White Mark II.
  23. Bowey was a late withdrawal with a corky in his back. I'd say his soreness has something to do with that
  24. This^ Would be snapped in two.
  25. Yes, lots to take out of the game: Starting to look like the Clarry of old, Petty clunking marks. If he didn't have the yips we'd be saying he's Back in Town Viney immense, AMW showed a bit The intensity was back Chandler's pressure also huge Great game from JVR The brilliance of Kos River's transition to the midfield as well as his run - brilliant Judd McVee gun
