  1. Huh? Sydney will play ball or be without a ruckman. We'll be fair in what we ask or they can sod off.
  2. Shultz is like a small forward bull. I was keen to get him last year when out of (rookie) contract and am devastated he wants to go to the goddam filth
  3. Agree. I'm thinking and hoping, they've been offered end of 1st or more fittingly a 2nd rounder, which explains the posturing by North. I hope the Bombers stick to their guns. Dodee received an end of 1st and is a superior player to Mackay. North would have made off like bandits by now if they got what they were dreaming of.
  4. Pick 5 for 31-year-old Tommy 'Moonboot' Lynch? Crazy talk
  5. I heard the same (about the Veterans spot)
  6. I've watched him play and disagree with the above
  7. I agree we have the better midfield, but I think what gets lost in the argument is the depth. We've lost JJ, potentially Harmes and Dunstan has retired. Yes, they're depth mids, but they're gone and we're not too many injuries away from a thin midfield. I'd certainly like a more balanced midfield and hope our drafting addresses both balance and depth - McKercher or Duursma please ✅
  8. Oh FFS what a crock. Media whipping anything about Melbourne into a frenzy of codswallop
  9. Yes, Rory Lobb is on a 3-year deal (no idea why). He would not be in contract negotiations anytime soon.
  10. I just thought I would help you with your first sentence: Not really...McStay was probably the only piece of filth to miss. Glad I could help.
  11. I don't agree. We picked up Jordan Lewis when we needed experience. We have an experienced midfleld. They just need to shift their thinking from the rinse and repeat dump kick into the forward line. The players have options but generally don't look for them.
  12. Wilson was great before he went to Freo. Not sure what happened to him. Injuries or just Freo?
  13. What Dee Spencer said. He played his role and didn't really seek to do anything else. He was solid without imposing himself on the game. He has an unusual kicking style but has no problem hitting targets. I wouldn't say there is any application problem. He doesn't seem to make many mistakes. IMO He's just finding his feet off the back of no preseason and doesn't yet back himself to take the game on yet. We might see a more confident and assertive player next year.
  14. I presumed it was all quite professional and that Grundy understood it just wasn't working in a 'no offense taken' kind of way. But, if playing the Schachster as sub wasn't the biggest eff you Grundy, ever, I'm not sure what is. I also can't recall Max spending much if any time up forward this year other than fleeting moments, as part of the grand ruck plan, when the two were playing. Perhaps it's just my failing memory :-(
  15. I don't think North will get 3 for McKay. The (AFL) media have done their level best to sell him as a first-round draft pick. Hawks and Dons won't cough up the cash because he's just not good enough. Unless the AFL does some seriously dodgy tinkering to reinvent their offers as worthy of first-round compensation, it won't happen. He either stays at north (offer matched) as they've threatened, or they take what he's worth and get left with eff all KPDs. Now, they've given them the tools to trade up and get GG's pick or a lovely hand of draft picks this year and next.
  16. I remember Gawn saying on a Gus and Gawny episode that he went into one of the recruiting offices and was surprised to see about 75 possible trades on the board. So Nudge is right, there's going to be a ridiculous number of possibilities floating around, most of which will die a natural death, but some will come off. Post away Nudge!
  17. There's s "special report" in The Age on the magnificence of Nick Daicos. I can't bring myself to look at it and I'm certainly not posting a link. Go Giants!
  18. Well done Oooze and please come back soon!
  19. You sure it wasn't Grundy that had the change of heart?
  20. User Warning: Listen with caution. Listening to Trade Radio can make you drowsy and dumber. Do not operate machinery while listening.
  21. Sad for Deakyn, as you are for any player receiving their marching orders. He definitely improved his game over the course of the year. All the best!
  22. I'd expect Verrall to improve with a preseason under his belt (his first). When he played in a practice match at the start of the year, I thought he had a future as a forward ruck (or vice versa). Then he had another long injury layoff. His lack of fitness was very apparent in the VFL, so fingers crossed he gets a decent run at it. I like his competitiveness (tick for Goodwin) and his follow-up on the ball. Not a bad kick either.
  23. I'm not that enamoured with Chol and think he lacks effort and desperation. I think GC will be happy to unload him given the talent coming in and the amount of time he spent in the VFL. I wouldn't be surprised if the coin he's on is somewhat inflated. We would have to match said coin. Agree that we need to desperately bring in a ruckman. My choice would be Fullerton (ruck/forward), O'Brian or Flynn but haven't seen much of Sweet. A big pass on Hayes. He has no tank and should have catapulted Lycett into retirement by now, but is still used only sparingly in emergencies after 7 years at the club. I expect Tommo to be told to explore his options again. He may get lucky otherwise he's a Dee in '24. I agree with your draft priorities and am very excited by what JT and the team can conjure up.
  24. Not sure about the bolded part, but, otherwise...Go Giants
  25. GO GIANTS! Deliver us pick 14 (I think) and stuff Port right up!
