Peatling would be a great get for the club. In all the games I've seen him (not too many), he's shown speed and Viney-esque levels of intensity and desperation (IMO) amongst other qualities, but they both stood out and it's what we lack.
-
Hope he has a great game, but has been playing in the backline. On an amusing note, Carlton has on their team sheet Matthew Kennedy at FF and Elijah Hollands at CHF - Lol, lol, lol. I hope the Weagles trounce them,
-
That's wrong - we have a 1st, a 2nd, two 3rds and a 4th
-
That's a new one for me (bolded) and an entirely appropriate response to the Lynch suggestion.

Big Carl for Mason Cox and Marcus Seacamp can go on the bench.

If it prolongs his career, I'm all for it when the time comes, which I suspect will be at the end of this year or next. While I think he loves the captaincy and suspect it's less of a burden on him than other AFL captains, I'd enjoy him playing without having to toe the line quite so much as Little Goffy mentions above. He certainly is a ripping individual. I agree with @Pirlo in choosing the captain and I suspect if the players vote for the less favoured candidate, the results might be massaged (eg. coaches get ten votes each).

FFS would people stop giving Tom Morris a jot of airtime? The guy just makes up [censored] and is unethical.

Just for accuracy, JJ was an unrestricted FA and we got and end of second round comp pick for him

Unless Verrall's grown, I don't think we have another 200cm+ player other than KFW. I think he's 198 or 199cm which may be splitting hairs but IMO, Verrall's not particularly mobile for his height. He seems to lumber around a lot so unless he becomes more agile/mobile, he's probably not a KPP.

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
Roger Mellie replied to Supreme_Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm not averse to giving Jeffo a go. He's a very smart player and, with a lift in intensity and fitness, could be a very good player in time. The other bonus would be shutting up Fence and his Jeffo fixation for a week. Having said that, while Port's defence might be better suited to him, they're still going to take one look at Jeffo vision and ragdoll him then run off him all game. It's just a matter of how much he would gain from the experience this year versus next. I'd also like to see Sestan at this level. He certainly has the skillset but his fitness is way off so it would have to be as sub, (with a prayer he wouldn't be required for more than half a game). He's had two seasons to get his fitness up but still goes missing at Casey more often than not, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it if that's where he stays. -

Welcome to Demonland: Ricky Mentha
Roger Mellie replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Trade, Draft & Free Agency
We'll need a couple more if Rivers and McVee move into the midfield. Nev Junior with speed would be a very welcome addition. -
[censored], Have we got umpire 22 AGAIN?
-
He's 32 next month and IIRC injury prone.
-
How about we give GWS pick 44 for Peatling (the pick we received for Toby Bedford).
-
Have been told to what?
-
Brayden Crossley fits that profile but I have no idea what he's up to now or if he's even playing footy.
-
He would be the perfect replacement but he's a Geelong boy who wouldn't entertain leaving and is about to take over from Stanley.
-
I'm sure we've had one or two of those. Paul Johnson (admittedly from yesteryear) springs to mind.
-
I read that too.

The dream team points make no sense. I've not really looked at them before but how they're calculated is a head-scratcher. Above are players with similar stats. How does Verrall get only 44 points?
-
Windsor got a hit in the goolies and dropped like a stone. Then a foot injury in the dying seconds of the game.
-
This makes sense but I was at the game and May could barely walk - it looks to me like a back injury. My guess is that's why they put him on Riccardi. Gawn was the other player who clearly played under duress and struggled to get around.
