This^ I haven't seen the interview, but thought straight away that with King coming out of the Geelong system, Gawn would get a whole lot more 'management,' whether he liked it or not. I think that's a good thing for both players. I'd also like to see Heath as a ruck forward and think he has the tools, particularly now with Kentman out for a few weeks. I'm not sure it'll fly though, with the current single ruck/running game emphasis. I have no idea how Heath goes with running/endurance, but I think he can slot a goal despite his practice game inaccuracy.

Interesting! I checked out the website and it gives you absolutely nothing.

I understand the rule to be that AFL-listed players can't play the weekend before the official comp starts (whenever that may be for each team). In recent years players could get exemptions eg. Tom Matthews/Campbell would get an exemption as they haven't played in the preseason comp. It looks like they've scrapped that though, which is unfair. Hawks players would have been banned last weekend, I assume.

I won't be cheering him. I'm flat out death riding GC at the moment. I hope he kicks lots of points and bombs it into the forward line.

What a let down!

I thought he was very good defensively but relatively poor going the other way. Looked unsure of what to do with the pill and didn't make great decisions.

Storm and Victory fit under the one roof. We don't! I don't think the sharing is as much of a problem (although not ideal) as our club being scattered between three sites.

Completely agree on why McAdam might not be brimming with enthusiasm. One of the recent training reports* said he was visibly limping and did little more than walking. IIRC it might have been a knee issue, so he may have had another set back. *Can't remember whose but a few weeks back.

As a rule, the club generally excels at organising these events at annoying or inopportune times for fans/spectators.

Kossie's surname is Kropinyeri-Pickett but it hasn't been used since he was drafted. I suspect LSP will be the same.

The AFL treat the VFL with utter contempt. I wonder how any team can function under their control. Why would you want to play for Casey unless you firmly believed you were still a shot at AFL. How can you build club culture when you just fill holes in the AFL seconds team and are shunted in and out of your local comp. What the hell's the point? They've killed off a few clubs now, not to mention pulling club funding. It's like the VFL is their plaything.

I think Kozzie and Langdon would laugh at the suggestion of being captains. Koz would then recoil in horror if he thought you were serious. He's made to be a leader of the indigenous players on our list, and he's already stepped into the role IMO.
