Gotta say I agree with much of this. The problems are much bigger than the coach, but include the coach (who is seriously delusional). Time for Jackson (and the AFL) to step up; tell the members "what the hell is going on".
-
Peter Jackson said, when taking over the CEO job, the supporters must be wondering " what's going on". We are none the wiser now; the question remains. I don't believe that it is just the coach, but he is seriously delusional. God knows how this is turned around, but what Neeld is telling the members/public is seriously delusional. For this lone he should go; but for who/what? Nothing easy here, but its time for Jackson to start to act; at the very least to start communicating with the members.

200+ if Lyon keeps the foot on the throat. Sad.

186 could get a run.

One match, no tagger. Better wait a bit.

Watts was an absolute bottom age draft. He should have waited a year, but would have certainly gone to GCS. Thus he went into the 2008 draft. Didn't want to go to GC. A wandering talent since.

5 Years Says Neeld - Who is going to cop that?
Mono replied to Mongrel Dee's topic in Melbourne Demons
Dumb statement, just dumb. True? Maybe. What a coach has to sell is hope, to supporters and players. Neeld does not do it (at least publicly). 3 to 5 years after he's had 1 and a half is [censored]. Maybe, just maybe he is saying "This is the way it is. Sack me if you don't like it." No problem - sack him now. Clarks comments are interesting: When asked on radio station 3AW whether it was a shock to the players to hear Neeld say that putting the Demons back on track was a five-year job, Melbourne's Mitch Clark said what he thought. "Maybe a little bit to be honest," Clark said. Clark added that the quick turnaround other clubs had managed in recent years gave him hope Melbourne could do the same. "Hopefully we can improve quite quickly," Clark said. Clark also said that he enjoyed playing under Neeld and the absence of a few top players was hurting the Demons' performance. Clark is beginning to sound like a real cluey fella. -
Where has Rivers bagged Neeld? Quote or link?
-
If Neeld said this, he is totally delusional. Beggars belief. Ed: Great. He'll be the only one there: no players, officials, supporters....lmao FFS

Agreed re Bate, but not the point of this thread. David Misson – Elite Performance Manager Neil Craig - Director Of Sports Performance If there was a supplement program you'd have thought they would be in the know (or should have been).
-
You'd have thought Misson was in there as well, some where.

No it aint. You'll get $200 membership out of me. They'll get FA out of Williams, other than a massive ego.

For the last 3+ years, MFC has treated Casey (and Sandy? before them) with total contempt. The VFL side has finished at or near top, only to have all eligible MFC pulled for the finals. VFL side goes out in straight sets. I, and many on these boards, have banged on about it. All to no avail. German quit as coach one year because of it. The arrogance of it is just numbing.

Absolutely no question I will walk away from this club if he gets any sort of gig.
-
I'd rather you got rid of Lyon.

Neeld Post Match - Platitudes and other nonsense talk
Mono replied to Soidee's topic in Melbourne Demons
I agree with this. Particularly the "The way Viney goes about his game is the future of this club." He has highlighted a 3 game player, essentially saying the rest are sh*t. Viney might be the future, but 4 or 5 years away. FFS back them, the players, to the hilt in public....then beat the sh0t out of them in private. Won't be watching any more of the presser sh9t until Neeld is gone. -
Not sure if you are talking about me, but if you are: Option 1: Eade football (and operations - whatever that is) manager Craig to senior coach Neeld to mid-field coach/senior assistant Royal to assistant, or out the door Mahoney to forward coach (gotta say tho' Mahoney has never coached an even remotely successful/functional forward line) or out the door Brown to assistant forward coach Option 2 (more likely) Craig football manager Neeld out the door Mahoney, Royal out the door Dunno....too bloody hard...where do you start
-
Craig - not sure how much of the Neeld failure has been him, tho'. Balme? Depends when the broom starts - 2014 at the earliest. (maybe Eade, Voss)

Sadly, its time to agree. The experiment started last year. There has been nothing since that time that gives ANY indication that the experiment will succeed. 2 provisos: what effect would sacking Neeld have on the players? They are at rock bottom now; just might be enough to finish them what has been the effect of the never-ending dramas on the individuals at the club. As Jackson said, it might be deep ED. Is there a crisis meeting at the club tonight? If not, there should be. As Jackson said: supporters want to know what the hell is going on

Good grief. FFS

You miss the point of this thread. Its not whether he should be in the ones or not, its about his dramatic loss of pace. Agree. His endeavor is not questioned; his lack of pace is. The MFC are responsible for that. Aside: my, Rhino. With the leash off you are certainly setting standards for forthrightness. No wondering where you stand! Still the old sarcastic barb tho'.
