Couch got a couple of games last year and had absolutely zero impact. Having said that, VFL form should be rewarded at some stage; why else keep him on as a rookie. No idea why Magner isn't playing tho'; butches it a bit...lol...but he does get it. The easy centre takeaways by the filth yesterday were alarming.

Thought this really interesting too. There was a bit of the "toughen up" from Neeld at the presser. Nothing to lose, maybe.

Loved the play in the 1st quarter when he burst from the centre, out accelerated Sidebottom and hit Howe lace out, dead in front. (Howe then proceeded to kick a point.) Bet that's the way they train.

In his presser, Neeld specifically said that they could have put Howe, Watts (and another player who I forget) in the backline to stem the flow, but after much discussion, they decided not to. That they didn't want to play that way, and to let it play out. Plenty on this forum would agree with those sentiments judging by past posts. Could have made the odd positional change tho'.

Dawes is on the record as saying our training is the equal of anything they did at the filth. Who are the senior players everyone is banging on about as turning the ball over, apart from Dunn? N Jones? Are they going to drop him? Garland? Jamar? Davey? Aren't too many others who qualify as senior (and who played). Seemed to me just about everyone was turning the ball over, excepting Davey.

Heard Buckley this morning saying (something like): "hard to judge our performance against THAT, should it be 50 points, 75, 100, 150?" Says it all sadly.

Senior players turning it over.....look at the list...only Dunn fits the bill (excluding Jamar who did OK?). We don't have that many senior players. lol

Impressive interview - went for 18? minutes...available online. Reasonable summary on AFL web site here. He backed Neeld to the hilt. He spoke impressively....also said Neeld had the 'full' support of the board(!) ..not sure how he would know that, but.....

Whether Neeld stays short term may well depend on what is happening with sponsors. Internally the club will know where sponsors sit with regard to our onfield performance. If it is not good, he may well be on his way soon. Only the club knows.

Other teams, eg saints, seem to offer up 1 or 2 "coach killer" moments a game; our boys offer up 20 to 30. Sigh.

Percentage now less than 50%. Half way through the season, gotta be some sort of record......another one...lol

9 hour turn around for me to attend a game. Won't happen again until i have hope of a competitive effort. Will take more than just Neeld departing. Ed: I am a member, and this stage will continue to pay. May review this if Williams gets the gig.

For me to attend a game is a 9 hour turn-around. I will not go again until I am guaranteed a competitive effort, be it Neeld or whoever as coach.
