  1. seems like another draft camp recruit. Elite kick, elite agility and elite repeat sprints. Yet watch him on the field where is all this pace etc?
  2. Roos rated him as 'potential' in an article assessing Melbourne's list. Roos wants pace but you would think he would be scratching his head a bloke like Blease with great pace cannot rack up the tackles. Yes I reckon he is a one dimensional player but if coached well has the attributes to be a consistent damaging player.
  3. He played more games than Ross Lyon and Alistair Clarkson who are coaching this year GF sides. How can people judge till he gets here as a coach? its like people assume blokes like Cameron ling are montys to be great coaches, despite zero evidence. You never know till they have had the chance.
  4. We are screaming out for a fast small forward and Nahas should be looked at. He will need to 'see the light' under Roos but he could be a very annoying defensive forward for the opposition. Its the ease that the opposition move out of our forward that needs to improve. They get it to centre wing in a heart beat before we know it.
  5. I missed his last few games. Can people describe how he went at the end. on stats alone he was getting more of the ball.
  6. Shaw was the only one in their backline leading the charge in the early rounds this year. Was impressive in his leadership on the field and thought he made good decisions. Always seems to pick the right options and is extremely attacking. We would have to consider him, but not at a great price. Shaw Frawley Grimes would be a decent half back line.
  7. supporters keep saying we will just stuff it up then vehemiently are against it. Im sure Newbold at Hawthorn won't mind if Buddy wins them another premiership. They had two chances with priorities till they got Franklin. Conveniently we can't go back and have another chance though.
  8. Yes Yes and Yes if we can get him. Would gladly give up pick 2 for him as he is already proven and behind the hottest midfield talent in the country. I would have thought they would be looking to trade a midfielder for a Frawley though and not sure Roos would give up his best key position player. but for pick 2absolutely. They would want pick 2 + something reasonable though as Aish is totally unproven.

  10. Still makes you wonder why he couldn't agree to a contract by the end of the season. We CANNOT afford to lose experience anymore. we just can't.
  11. sounds familiar. not really innovative it must be said, but i expect a significant rise.
  12. it seems astonishing that a bloke who busts his gut and plays well consistently at VFL level, has had some good AFL games cannot crack a game at the moment. did he shag somebodies missus ? it not like we have too many better players ahead of him.
  13. My money is on him not being specific, probably going only so far as to say we need an experienced coach and nameing 4 or 5 coaches. The bloke is as vanilla and uninteresting as Garry Lyon when asked his opinion on things. e.g What do you think of the doping saga Paul? well on the one hand you have blah blah, then on the other hand you have blah blah... snore fest.
  14. The ability to tackle consistently and correctly. its so undervalued in the modern game but i think its crucial. teaching player how to anticipate the oppositions ball movement. blokes like Watts are still to reactive and always chasing.
  15. Based on what. Ive seen him get in the best for casey once. Why do we want to do the very thing that makes our development so sh1te i.e promoting players for the sake of it, whilst Geelong etc let them develop for years in the twos. The mind boggles. Lets at the very least see if he can do it again at VFL level first.
  16. If we throw even more at roos and he does take it, what does that say about roos. I get the feeling it's mostly about money when he keeps saying 'not for now'. If he took it he is a hypocrite.
  17. He just won't rule it out will he.... HmmmmSheahan asked him 'you must know now if you want to coach melbourne next year surely? Roos replied at this stage he doesn't. Mike followed up with 'so you won't coach melbourne next year? Then roos wouldn't say directly but reiterated he spoke to Peter Jackson 3 weeks ago and things haven't changed. Funny he won't answer anything directly but it appeared more no then yes. Cagey man. Never seen him totally up front though.
  18. No room for grimes ?Reckon we really need a tough fast back pocket to mind the goal sneaks. A bartram with kicking skills.
  19. Yes I saw that and found it quite 'interesting' shall we say. seemed happy to play along so made one think. Also interesting his analysis on Terlich, showed some vision and said its not great to come off the ground thinking I had 27 posessions when your direct opponent kicked 4 goals. Showed how simply not concentrating on your man cost goals.
  20. Royal has been a massive problem I reckon. The first round I say jack viney doing things our midfield don't seem to do. Eg knowing when to take the ball and more importantly not take the ball in congested situations, getting into dangerous positions 5 feet from a scrimmage when we have numbers in there, getting body contact on a would be tackler. You don't have to be Gary ablett to do this stuff.
  21. Out of interest did you hate him in the last qtr last week, where without him we would have lost ?
  22. I'm sick of Sydney being put as the perfect model doing it against the odds without the free leg up, when they have always had an extra $800k in the salary cap. That was pivotal in them not bottoming out. Now they get Tippett after a premiership makes me think I'm over them.
  23. Tell that to the Hawks when Buddy kicked 100 goals in 2008 to help them win the premiership, or to Collingwood when Pendlebury won the Norm Smith in 2010. They don't guarantee success, but they can have a BIG impact.
  24. The lack of clipboards is stifling our development of players. Perhaps the key reason actually.
  25. Lets wait and see what you think in 2 years time. Morton, bennell, Scully, gysberts were tracking ahead of most of those in their first year. In fact matt jones is the only arguable one.
