  1. lets see how things pan out. I remember Clarry getting a standing ovation this time two years ago after playing a terrific game at the 'G and since then has has slowly turned to average outputs. Let's wait till the sugar hit is over and see if Petracca can repeat thosekicking efforts all year, can back into packs again and be the track of old. For Clarry nothing suggests to me he's any different, it might suit him with Green out but right now he's a temu Green. Both were in winning sides, when they tide turns, we shall see how they perform. What i think is Trac 'can' get back to his best. Oliver won't.
  2. what do you mean by 'hit and miss' in this context ?
  3. Jake Melksham makes up with Steven May and in a terrible twist gets bitten by Mays dog.
  4. except being our best kicking inside 50.
  5. could be our wizardTM* ? trademarked by Jeff Farmer fans of course.
  6. you'd swear he was playing a decoy role, or we just ignore him. He does the old 'gets to where the ball aint'. I just dont see him making it. Sure last week he showed a bit on the lead and a great pack mark but put a decent opponent on him and he has zero impact.
  7. Ahhh Cornes. I remember Cornes sprouting how everyone could see the 'disaster' in bringing Grundy to the club when he was traded. Rewind to when we recruited Grundy, and he was saying what a stroke of genius by the Dees to bring in another premiership. When you get away with getting so many wrong, you dont get to 'vindicate yourself' on one you brought up like most journos did.
  8. Yep, really impressed in his first year, a lot to like. a very good all round game. I'd say Langford is the most exciting for me but Lindsay close behind.
  9. we seemed to have quickly forgotten about our most talked up midfield player in preseason...Culley. I thought our midfield could be one of the worst but Pickett, Rivers, Steele, Langford, Culley, Windsor should compete with most teams.
  10. confidence is such a key. Early last year our confidence went from high in round in 1 to completely shot by round 5/6. The gold coast game at the G we got spooked and couldnt pass 15 metres with no pressure. It was a team looking all over the place, like they'd never even trained together. Lets hope we dont hit those levels again.
  11. agreed. comparatively there are a lot worse. we have to suck it up
  12. Yes its looking like we are developing more of the outside run, and more skill by foot. Remember though we do have Steele, Rivers, Langford, Culley who are bigger bodies while we wait for Viney to get fit. Down the track its easier to buy in an inside bullocking type than a classy outside runner. We have to back ourselves to develop Latrelle, Windsor, CJ, Taylor who can turn on the jets and break open the play.
  13. to me the net loss in the midfield is petracca. I'd rather have Steele than Oliver, hes a better kick and a more reliable citizen. Viney not doing a preseason and sans Petracca will be our biggest issues coming into the new season.
  14. Interesting. I tend to agree. im more in the 'he may or may not make it' category but maybe thats more wishful thinking. I would say he does have 'clever' attributes but it hasnt clicked at all for him as yet.
  15. Never saw a problem with Levers speed, its an asset he has to intercept and close down entries. not sure who you are watching. He's not express but hes certainly not slow. post injury he certainly struggled late last year but that was understandable.
  16. lets hope the saints stuffed up that call.
  17. are we training at Gosch's tomorrow by chance. ? rare time i can go.
  18. I like him in the ruck, a real competitor, and some pace around the stoppages. But as a key forward he doesnt have enough tricks. decent depth I guess.
  19. nothing to me suggests that. he had a full preseason, played a full season and was ordinary. lucky to get top 10 in the B and F.
  20. Oliver was fantastic up to 2023 but his 7th place in this years B and F flattered his output I thought. and thats after a full preseason. That has to be a key reason most clubs had no interest in him.
  21. Totally agree. Immature attitude to a club that gave him everything, including one of the biggest contracts in AFL history.
  22. Jeff his dad really rates his work below the knees. He looks a natural in those highlights. just need experience and a bigger body.
  23. thats a very strong recommendation by Taylor. Given the wraps how did he last till pick 30 ? Pickett and Dovaston were getting some write ups but why not this guy ? intriguing.
  24. No rookie him. its a lot different on the books and we have 3 senior, mature ruckmen ahead of him on the list. let him develop, no pressure, then in 2 years we will have a much stronger idea whether he will make it.
