  1. Would there be anything more sickening and vomitus then having the club that has bullied us so often, smashed us so bad so regularly, to then take our prized fast running key back off us to win yet another premiership.
  2. I don't quite understand this. Byrnes comes in from Geelong and says the dees pre-season was harder than any he had done at Geelong. I fail to see its a fitness issue. In fact i reckon a lot of beltings we were running moreso than the opposition just like a losing tennis player.
  3. I just can't for the life of me understand how we can get annihilated by any team so easily. It's beyond me.
  4. Each year at this time we seem to always experience this mind blowingly painful numbness. Usually its getting flogged by huge amounts, now its all 3 key forwards with significant issues and our most valuable player in frawley out the door. My God.
  5. I assume we've hired a conditioning guy for each leg. Thats how valuable he is to us. if one is better at his job than the other, then Mitch may end up running in circles.
  6. I wonder what the 2nd conditioning guy does? a lot of 'hmmm I agree' I suppose.
  7. My Hawthorn mate loved Rivers in the preliminary final. Geelongs worst player who conceded goals and went missing all night. pre-season games mean nothing.
  8. Micky O is a legend...oh please. Ever heard of innocent people paying their victims... http://www.abc.net.au/4corners/content/2004/s1100551.htm
  9. I guess he was going so well, and without a strong midfield, coaches wanted his kicking skills across half back, ready for the handball. Thing is, it was too easy for the opposition to shut down. Back at his peak under Daniher, he was dynamite running down opposition backmen though.
  10. mention the word aboriginal and some love to get their pitch forks out and go on a racist witch hunt. Believe me, you are seeing something that is not there. Look Aaron deserves respect as he gave his all to the footy club but my point was, although a good role model for aboriginal players, I don't think he would stack up as a coach at the top level (too many time oppoenents got into his head and he lost it), and probably has found his niche teaching at a lower level. and as for bring up the 'cherry picking' of players, go read the original post and what has Goodes and O'Loughlin got to do with proving anything about the hundreds of aboriginal players who have come through the system. Shall I pick 2 talented players who weren't dedicated and expect you to accept that as a definitive argument?
  11. Well he was there mentoring blokes like Jurrah and Wonna and things still went pear shaped. I think its the right thing for him to move on, at his prime he was great to watch and a great servant of the club, but I don't see him as a great coach. the opposition got under his skin and could defeat him too easily at times, and unfortunately was typical of our yo yo fortunes at the times he played. hard to gain respect when players know that. dedicated for an aboriginal player but he was never a great leader once on the field.
  12. oh didnt know it was a different article. thought it was the original posted. play on.
  13. so if you are traunatised by war how do you pass that on through your genes i.e if its not genetic ?
  14. The causal reason he king hit blokes was his dad served in the armed services. WOW.
  15. Ben reidand Matt Priddis would interest me. both have plenty left in the tank and both very very good footballers. someone like ben Reid who can stand a tall and deliver precision kicking would make our backline very very good. Not getting paid a lot at the pies either but seems loyal. Would love to take something from West Coast as i hate them and Priddis is crucial in their engine room, very good hands in close and a workhorse. Shannon Hurn worth a look but a lot an that list are getting quite old.
  16. Probably a sign for roos that our defensive pressure is so bad in the forward line. its the one string to Bails Bow
  17. Massive call. Has not got anywhere approaching it so far. Also about to play a new position to him.
  18. Not sure on this one. You would think we can draw a line on what Jetta offers by now. if we didn't want him on the main list, why rookie him ?
  19. how bad are training boots or runners nowadays if the sole detaches?
  20. Interesting Pick. listening to Roos explain the pick 2 trade, he was really onto big bodied midfielders as we took Viney and Toumpas last year. so its a surprise we didn't go for a bigger bodied player, although he likes the contest. He looks like a clever link player with very good disposal and a good amount of pace. Sheahan and some phantom drafts just say he is a better footballer than Freeman but I think people are underwhelmed by the lack of X factor in this kid. it would be good to properly develop a player at Casey for a while and bring him in when he is ready. I don't think Roos will throw him to the wolves straight away.
  21. Yes it seems to never end for him. I wonder how much that has hampered his development. He has to start getting more of the ball or he will be delisted.
  22. Interesting reasoning by Roos on why we gave up pick 2 in the Tyson deal. They thought the high draft picks this year were smaller bodied players and on the back on smaller types in Toumpas and Viney last year, preferred the bigger bodied player. It would suggest pick 9 won't be anyone small or light.
  23. Interesting quite a few here have factored Watts as a positive in the midfield this year. Even though Roos has earmarked it, he has no history to show he could become a decent midfielder let alone a top one. I hope he does but do people think he can be strong enough at the contest? even if he does take the timid out of his game, will he have the ability to get the ball? I still doubt it. What he has shown so far is ability when he is a loose man and occasionally as a forward showing some brilliance. The new recruits are all natural midfielders but watts would start at ground zero.
  24. remind any one of Junior Mac watching him play ? also Whelan
