  1. Jefferson who was building confidence coming into AFL footy as a deep forward, gets a hand injury then they put him down back at Casey ? what the ? Put Fritsch down back if we had to many forwards, hes got more experience there, and can work on defensive pressure.
  2. yes the opposite of 'always look for the bad' which is the DnA of this forum.
  3. oh please. Geelong have brought in the key players from other clubs. Dangerfield, Cameron and even Smith gifted to them without even having to give up a to p10 pick. Bowes along with pick 7 for nothing in what can only be described as collusion. I think Scott is a good coach and they have traded well but their drafting isnt the core reason for their success. They've been able to stay up by bringing in champion players from other clubs.
  4. some harsh comments here. first 4 games playing AFL were decent. had a quiet one on the weekend. so be it. looks a good user and given our shizen running patterns, its not a bad start. having said that he and spargo shouldnt both be playing with Kozzie and Chandler in the side. id keep him in and drop Spargo. Totally agree. I dont get the toddler like reactions on here to sack Goodwin. The new game plan was always going to struggle with the injuries and suspensions to key players who can move the ball quickly. Those who say for instance keeping Bailey Fritsch in the side shows he has no clue. Well he has had a couple of decent weeks, last week our most involved forward so you just arent watching. Given him till the half way point, 6 new players round one, new game plan we actually abandoned last year. let the dust settle first.
  6. ye but we need to give them problems with Kozzie, Lindsay, Windsor, Sharp breaking the lines. we have pace back in now. and not play bees to a honey pot which the cats loved last week just picking free outside players at will.
  7. We could have lost by 17 points. thats the saddest thing I've read.
  8. has he? I havent heard anything out of the ordinary, apart from some out of form players might need to find form at Casey over the next few weeks. hardly earth shattering demands.
  9. well i cant see him making it as a midfielder in the main team so...
  10. id like to see Laurie trialed in AMWs back pocket role.

I dont think we will but watching them live on Saturday you could see we really lacked pace to open things up through the middle. We've desperately missed Kozzie, Windsor, McVee not just for pace but to create. It looks like we will get 2 of them back along with Lever and Spargo. We should be more competitive.
  12. 100% agree and he will never be a captain because of it. Great player and we must empathise with a very serious injury but what he did was unforgiveable to us as a brand.
  13. agreed he does look a top 5 pick. Classy but Ive also been surprised by his toughness in the clinches. ultra competitive when the ball is in dispute.
  14. wow amazing how supporters jump the gun. Rivers was heralded as one of the few shining lights moving into the midfield last year, bringing acceleration, a big body and improved kicking. Round 2 and he's a spud midfielder. spare me. Maybe with Oliver and Trac back playing decent footy he's finding his new role. We've had so much change and supporters just want seamless improvement.
  15. agreed. I was thinking the same thing as Rivers will need to drop to half back with Windsor out. Turner will come in for AJ you'd think.
  16. agreed. good athlete and hes quite tall at 197 cm. he is an aerial threat and helped keep GWS from taking easy release marks in their backline.
  17. I think he has the attacking skill set, can judge the ball to reach at its highest point, good kick with some attacking handpasses. Defensively he just needs a bigger tank. He has speed but not quite there to get to more contests and stop his defender running off. A good debut. keep him in for a few weeks.
  18. From what i saw he only lacked energy at the end due to fatigue. He was up and about most of the game.
  19. Did you watch GWS dominate marks in defensive 50 last week with one of the best key back in the league ? AJ did his job bringing it to ground. as did the others. Thats what Goodwin rates.
  20. disagree. he's still our best deep forward. i think people need to take into account we had Jefferson, Johnstone playing their first games and they are all getting used to each other. We are playing 3 talls along with Fritsch so defensive pressure will suffer.
  21. and here's the clincher. He was Essendons first rounder !!
  22. take a very big chill pill. 5 newbies against a premiership favourite. What were we expecting?. To win that would be one for the ages. It wasnt to be, but it took GWS till the last minute to steal it back. Anyone looking negatively does not understand the our side today.
  23. Sorry im reading through this, do people know the odds of winning with 5 first gamers ? we didnt win but it was in the last minute of the game that GWS won. Winning for us was almost IMPOSSIBLE. If that last kick from Johnstone went through it would have been one of the greatest home and away wins of the last 20 years. I cant understand or even read the negativity on here.
  24. He was the sub and playing a premiership favourite who cleaned up the pies last week.
  25. i thought he was quite good last year. at times really good. this pre-season hes been quite poor though. I still think he will end up a third tall in defence and be very effective.
