The only bloke on the list that never wastes a possession.

Send Robbo to Sandy for good, and give the forward 50 to Colin

Booming kick and great overhead mark. Ready to explode.

Some peanuts on this forum want him gone, but want to keep Cameron Bruce. Sad.

Hard and skilful vs soft and wasteful

I know what I would rather.

Also 5 cms too short to ever be a consistent useful forward, cannot take a contested mark to save himself. Can't read the play quick enough to be a good midfielder and isn't built to be a forward.

seriously...shut the [censored] up! what game or games have you been watching??? Sylvia will be lucky to be kept on the list by years end if he doesn't pull his finger out...all well and good to have a half decent 4th quarter when the game is over ala Robbo......as a team we are shocking....no one on the list at the moment could be considered a good player....

was good for us on the half back line today, think it may be his position... was going to post during the week he should play down there... has some pace, uses it well, goes hard at the ball and is good overhead...

Sylvia plays like he thinks he's great. Sadly, he isn't.

I liked what I saw from him in the last quarter when he was playing in the backline. At least when you give him a task, he doesn't look so utterly lost in space.

However, he will never be a 'gun' if after running for 5 minutes he has to stop and stretch out on the field. While I know this isn't his fault, it's the reality. His fitness is a huge problem, and so is his attitude.

Stick him in the backline and make him understand what accountability means.

18 rounds and counting...

sylvia was having calf cramps in the last quarter, he had to stretch them a number of times, and was drinking lots of fluid. once he actually cramped up while chasing down a north player who kicked a goal on the run. he probably should have been off.

he will be a wasted player if he becomes a mid sized defender. he needs to learn how to crumb so he can play in the forward line where he can use his strength to advantage when he is one on one. when he is there with robbo and neitz however he needs to learn to play small.

He was one of our best today.

His drive through the middle ( mostly in junk time last quarter though) mostly ended up in melbourne goals.

I like him as a half back-ish player. Great hand, good rebound skills.

Junk time is the problem...

I agree about half back though. Unfortunately I don't think he'll make a midfielder. Pinch hitting maybe.

Yze_Magic. For me the jury has been out on you. I enjoy your absurdities and appreciate your input, your great love of this club (most of the time) is infectious. However my opinion on your knowledge of the game and your ability to critique the players and their impact on the game has slipped dramatically today, after this blind assessment of Sylvia's game.

Almost every disposal of his today was a complete waste, he was soft with a capital S and in the absence of our leaders: Neitz, Yze, Robbo, White and Brock he should be standing tall and setting an example for our younger players.

I love Colin and I want nothing more than for him to be part of the future of this club, but today we saw a few penetrating kicks but little else. Lets keep the debate on Demonland real and not kid ourselves.

Cheers.

In the next few weeks, I think you will get your wish!

Leave Big Col alone in the forward line with Dunn roaming around the 50m arc....

It will work!!!

Sylvia played a good game today, very creative. It was is goal today that white kicked @ the richmond end, it was Sylvia's setup (under pressure) & kick that green marked while running with the flite of the ball. Many many others.

I agree he did do some good things that you mentioned above, but they were in junk time when the sting was out of the game.

If Sylvia played a good game today, then so did Robbo.

What's wrong with the half-back line?

Are you saying the likes of Jason Gram are wasted running off half-back?

No use playing him in the midfield if he isn't going to do anything

If Sylvia had Robbos role, he would have kicked 6 and kept us in the game

Sylvia is a better kick than Robbo, is smarter, stronger, and he keeps his feet. His vertical leap is as good as or nbetter thna Robbos, and he has stronger hands. Add to that, Colin will give SECOND EFFORTS inside the forward 50

Of course, the problem with Colin at full forward is that he doesnt have a clone of himself upfield to hit him lace out on the lead.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
