God damn I thought his OP had flared again when I saw the thread. Oh well. I'm still looking forward to him carving it up this year.

At least it shows that the group are serious. $5,000 fine and a match on the outer is a hefty penalty.

Perhaps this curfew was masterminded by the club's administration as a manner of reducing expenses.

I'm not in favour of match bans as they penalise the team and all supporters. I understand it, and yes, it worked for the Cats.

I'm not up in arms over it and there's no doubt our culture needs to change, so if these types of measures work, fair enough.

Sylvia is a bogan and not the sharpest tool in the shed. Let's hope things sloooooowly sink in.

God this is exasperating! No professionalism. No pride in the jumper. No respect for team-mates and their code of conduct. No .... No .... No ......

I have to say I rarely come on here to give players a spray.

Having said that....

Colin Sylvia needs to wake up to himself and think about what sort of a career he wants to have and the type of legacy he wants to have. The guy has enormous talenmt but his attitude is a disgrace. From his first game, where he was flying for marks from behind and being a showpony, he has yet to prove he is anything but a wasted talent.

On the eve of our 150th season and in his 5th year at the club (or so??) he should be a leader. In fact, because of bad luck and a poor attitude, he is well behind other far less talented players in his development.

If I were DB I would make Sylvia work with paralympians or with other disabled people so he can understand what an insult it is to have untapped potential, and be inspired by people who would love to have half his physical ability.

Colin, pull your finger out. You are a footballer. Prove it.

We are wasting out time perservering with this so called No. 3 draft pick.

This is a CAC misfire.

He might of ripped it up playing @ TAC Cup level with the boy's however mentally

he hasn't left the under 18's.

He simply doesn't want it bad enough

Move him on ASAP & don't give me any watch him tear us apart crap, because it won't happen.

Let's not get too carried away. He's been hit with a hefty fine and a suspension...one thinks that this ought to knock some sense into him. He has been in decent form and will be a big blow come round 1. The thing with the new curfew is...1am is around the time 18-24 year olds get started on a Saturday night...bit tight if you ask me. That said, rules are rules...and you either abide by them or get punished. Time to wake up Col we need you.

You say it yourself.. rules are rules. He either is a professional footballer or he can go !!

Time for play is the off season... .. youz takes the money...youz play the game !!

All that aside...he has let his team mates down...that borders on the unforgivable.

Very right he needs to wake up

Disappointing but love it at the same time.

I have been waiting for a new group to come in and act professional and clean up our act.

It shows we are dead serious by imposing a suspension of the first match of the year. Every team has got these players and we have to show we are serious.

No doubt the only way we will become professional is to have a serious crack down. What do we have to lose ?? seriously.

This seems to be the only way to get through to him and make a bloke like Sylvia wake up and treat his role professionally.

That just cannot happen, and if he does it again, then let him choose another club because we want passionate professional players.

I am disgusted at this

For Christs sake, the kid has more natural talent than anyone on this list

But has a brain the size of a pea, and thats being generous

Am I the only on eto see a similarity between Sylvias contempt for the club and Tarrants for the filth ?

I think Collingwood made the right move.. we could do a lot worse than learn from that !!

This whole thing with the 1am curfew is interesting.

A good friend of mine plays for the Hawks. He hasn't drunken for the past month as he is tyring to solidfy his spot for rd1 against us but he was hitting it hard on saturday night and was up till all hours. I suppose what Im trying to say is going out is fine and getting smashed once in a while but it has to be in moderation.

I would have thought as part of being a professional in sport that you would need to look after your body as #1....after all its your ONLY asset. Going out in "work time " ( and that is anytime during the paid season) i should have thought was pretty low down on a list of things to do.... unless of course youre an idiot !!!

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
