Cya Craig

Gotta say I loved your work, but Ill never understand why you would choose Terry Solarium Wallace and Greg The Snake Miller over the MFC

i initially thought that we would be but maybe not anymore

I would have thought that even if CAC was the most professional man in the industry, this would still be too clearer conflict of interest (and Moral Hazard, for those accounting buffs ;) ) for the club to have him in charge of the PS and Rookie drafts.

As for choosing Wallace and Miller, I doubt he'll have to worry too much about the latter. The writing is now carved deep into the wall. Just pray that we don't get that berk at Melbourne.

i disagree... we have no one else who is qualified like he is to sit at the selection table for the rookie draft...

we've paid him for the last 7 months to watch football, football and more football and now some of the result of that is coming uo, the rookie draft and we don't get his input? it would be like effectively having paid for half the salary of richmond's head recruiter for the season, and not having one ourselves...

i think CAC will be professional enough to sit at the MFC table next tuesday and round out a fine stint at the melbourne football club...

Good lord - no wonder we never win flags!

CAC should be concerned at the mere perception of a "conflict of interest". And MFC should have the common sense to stand him down. There is a team of recruiters after all and they all know who they rate and in what order.

See you Craig - hope you fail miserably in your new job.

His qualification is beside the point. As his integrity should be. He has already announced his intentions, and any drafting decisions (especially contentious ones) will instantly have that conflict-of-interest stigma attached to them. I'm not saying that CAC wouldn't be professional enough to put his new allegiance aside, but I expect that the club has the information he has gathered for them already; his part has already been played, save for him actually calling names out. As such, for the sake of having him call a few names, we could do without any speculation from the cynical half of the football community as to his motivations.

In a nutshell, he has already done what he was paid for; gather information about the best young footballers in the country. He may have the final say, but he does not make decisions on his own. His presence at the PS and rookie drafts would be token at most. I don't think it's necessary or worthwhile at this stage.

Whilst i can appreciate the frustration and possible angst ,after all following football is a passion it really isnt called for to denigrat eanyone. He ( CAC) served in his position professionally. It is after all a job !! He now has another..its as simple as that.

In all professions and walks of life people move from A to B. Its life.. its also nothing to get terribly excited or upset over. He will be replaced in some fashion as all people are. Who knows , the next might be even better and would all those throwing grenades currently be so inpsired ?

We ( mfc ) know who is in the PSD. Do you seriously suggest it was going to be a last minute decision ? of course not. Neither will the Rookie draft.

People...take a deep breath..Its all ok.. and we move on!!

The only reason to get angry is CAC had just signed a 3 year contract, now wishes to break his contract and leave the club, where is the integrity <_< .

Thanks Craig for all your hard work at MFC. We all hope to see the fruits of your labour for years to come. I appreciate your friendly, accessible and open approach. You will be sorely missed. Good luck for your future - and may you have a never ending series of mid range picks at Richmond.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

Many warned that this was a danger game and the Demons were totally outclassed all game by a young Eagles team at Optus Stadium in Perth as they were defeated by 35 points.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
