Freo are becoming the Bombers scrapheap now eh? At least it's not us.

Think we have made some good choices up in the top of the draft... the later picks - well lets just hope they are CAC specials like Whelan and Bruce.

Think DB sounds like a better developer of the kids than ND was and I cant wait to see how things pan out... damn I am excited.

Could Pfiefer be picked up in the psd?

i think he will...probably be richmond.

with Maric picked up, i dont see the need for Sampi...

Not just Maric. We've gone small and medium with our picks. No really tall or solid players. We must be well positioned now to take a likely ruckman in the rookie draft and I'd like to see us draft a KPP in the PSD. If not a recycled player then at least a young kid who didn't get drafted.

With Maric and Davey on the list and having drafted players of the size of Grimes and Cheney I can't see us possibly taking Sampi in the PSD.

I am liking the looks of the undrafted Dave Gourdis in the PSD

He's not eligible I don't think. Definitely a rookie option though.

Well considering that Freo was willing to offer their 4th round pick to Essendon in exchange for Bradley, I think it worked out pretty well for them in the end... and Essendon got nothing, which is even better. The idiots could have had an extra pick, instead they delisted him only for him to end up at Freo anyways.

Speaking of recycled players, Dew looks like he swallowed an entire Maccas joint!

Having met him on many occasions, he is a really lovely guy who enjoys a meal.... or 10, but seeing his photo in the paper today shocked me. He definitely needs a long, hard pre-season before he even contemplates fitting into an AFL jumper.

Rumour has it he was 120 kg earlier this year. 30 kilos heavier than his playing weight

No rumour. It was reported in the The Age on Sunday.

Should go for a Jenny Craig endorsement?

Fremantle. I'd like to take a moment to thank them for Jeff Farmer.

Handed to us for Phil Gilbert. Taken back half a decade later, giving us pick 17.

So, net result, we got some of the best years of Jeff Farmer and pick 17, for free.

Anyway, the best thing about the Bradley & Johnson move to Freo is that either way, at least one of Essendon or Fremantle will look like idiots.

Given our past experience with trying to recycle bombers (Heffernan, Moorcroft) I'm glad we didn't give it a go this time, and don't feel very optimistic for Freo.

Stat of the day - Bradley didn't lay a tackle in any of his four games for 2007. He laid four tackles in a single game in his debut season (2005), which represents 10% of the tackles he's laid in his 50 game career.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
