Brad Miller To Swans

Does our club have some sort of disease where they can't see how bad Miller is? It looks like sacking our coach can't even get the job done. Seriously he has NO football brain/ability unless u like indecisive and unreliable CHFs who slow down all your momentum, never kick goals and turnover the ball 9 times out of 10. I just hope that he gets traded...for ANYTHING or ANYONE. Otherwise we really are the MFC - Miller Football Club

"required player " is my definition of football politics. Given that he's uncontracted, if CAC stated that he's on the market, the player feels unloved, and could put himself in the PSD. MFC get nothing for him.

couldnt agree more :)

As some one who had a lot of faith in miller, i must admit it has not been a good year and a bit for the man, he has not developed as well as i and many others expected, if we could get buchanen for him, i would take it.

On the other hand if he stays i would not be unhappy but would be expecting a major improvement off the man.

Miller needs to be off loaded before his market value reaches zero. He hasnt the skill to play as a marking forward and we all know how useless he is as a defender - apart from one lucky game on Barry Hall.

Potential is a dirty word and cannot be applied in Brad's case given the opportunties we've given him.

So long, [censored] truck...

To me the single biggest problem for Miller is he's a one trick pony...all he seems capable of doing is leading out ( and a long ways oout..lol ) to take a mark in a position which puts the forward line to disadvantage as its just slowed it all up !! Very mono-dimensional. The novelty of these has well passed its expiry date. Now maybe Bailey has something else to teach him.. ( but is he capable of learnig it ? )

I'd rather another team took that chance !!!

Aaah. I think you misinterpreted. I think what I meant was that I'm annoyed we put six years into a guy who won't be as good as we'd hoped. I still think he could be Perrie-like... he certainly has the work ethic... but when you have the potential he had and you have 6 years and end up going backwards, it's just a sad state of affairs.

What else is he gonna say he's a piece of crap if you want him you can have him?

This is true. I think I expected him to just say nothing. It's the required player part that surprised me.

ok so we draft miller at pick 55, he proves he is a dud, and we get pick 27 for him? i'll be reasonably happy. i'll also be happy if he comes on at sydney because its obviously a lot between the ears down here.

Yes, we get a second rounder for a late pick, that all sounds fine and dandy, but we're also trading a KPP player that we developed for 6 years. Effectively we're giving them a known entity, and a grown man... I think the trade is fair personally. KPP players that have played the footy Miller has are thin on the ground.

I think the Miller detractors will eat their words. Putting aside our dearth of KPP's Miller is clearly a player who has lacked confidence in the past 2 -3 years. Previously he was aggressive and used his body to have a physical impact on the game. A couple of reports and loss of form resulted in his confidence going. This year he showed snippets of taking good pack marks and kicking long goals. I also think his decision making is improving.

I agree he has been deplorable down back. He is a forward and he needs to be coached well and once he regains his confidence and starts hitting the packs hard again you will see a different player.

Bailey is supposed to be a good teaching coach. Miller has the raw talent and potential to develop into a good CHF so the challenge is there for him. If he goes to the Swans and has success there will be a lot of red faces at the MFC.

I agree he has not developed as much as we thought he would and I think Daniher has a lot of explaining to do in that regard. He persisted with him in the backline where he was clearly out of his comfort zone. I would give him a one year contract (not two) and give him and Bailey a chance to resurrect his career. What is the worst that can happen - he has another bad year and is in and out of the team. Is that so bad given the potential upside and the fact that we have few KPP's anyway.

And on TJ - what is wrong with you guys? I can understand him being up for trade in an attempt to get Judd. But with a new coach and hopefully an attitude change to match TJ could be anyting. We have all been waiting for it to happen - the challenge is there to him and Bailey to achieve and not let another club benefit.

No ties.

If you read the article on the website, it mentions nothing of Bailey ever coaching Miller at Mt. Gravat.

he was senior oach at mt. g from 1997-1998. miller was drafted at the end of 2001. does anyone know how many years miller played seniors at mt.g? and is it possible that they had some contact with miller playing in the juniors?

au contraire..

I think the Miller detractors will be unfortuantely vindicated ( should he still be here for 08 )

what can he do 1)... lead out to the middl e of nowhere.. he's really good at that....nett effect.. slowing of attack..defocusses forward thrust. value 1/10. and the one is only because we have the ball !!

what can he do 2) he goes in all argy bargy ,head hunting...all Grrrr grrr and neanderthal !!.. ..net effect.. gives away frees, fronts tribunal. Value 0/10 and we dont even have ball.. well done !! lol

he cant ( or wont ) kick for sh!t.. has no dimensioanlity to his game..

on the upside...he has room for improvement...LOTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wait a minute...we offered Miller a new contract?

Nope

CAC said this to trick Paul Roos into thinking that Brad Miller has some value

Smart man

It is widely known that we have a shallow draft approaching, and people want to trade Miller for 27? What a fu*king waste!

Might as well tie him to a deal for something constructive.

Personally, I think Miller has safe hands and can find the ball, he just has no ability to dispose of it. His kicking has let him down for so long, his reaction now is to instantly handball to the closest red and blue jumper (and often to trouble). I dont mind trading him, but you're a peanut if you want pick 27 in a rubbish draft.

27 for Miller.

I'll take that any day of the week. Hell i would even take 30's pick, even 40's.

just opened the mfc website and the headline that jumped out at me is "2008 is Miller Time" WTF? Couldn't be bothered reading it........

Quote from the article Its Miller Time...."It’s only been four weeks, I’ve been taking it easy and putting the feet up.” he said.

“Probably over the next month it will get a bit more serious.”

WITH DEAN BAILEY ANNOUNCING PRE SEASON AT THE END OF OCTOBER AND THAT PLAYERS BETTER TURN UP FIT AND RARING TO GO, NOT QUITE THE COMMENT I WOULD HAVE EXPECTED. LOL

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
