Decision Not Made!

Did anyone notice last night how Chris had to pull the microphone away from Rebecca when the reporter asked "What colours Chris would look best in?" After pulling the microphone away from Bruce Macalvanys hand and away from Rebecca’s mouth Chris said "You are not allowed to ask that question?" and the telecast went to a commercial break.

This is a clear sign that the decision has indeed been made and Rebecca knows the destination. Who is it? Who knows but my father is very close friends with one of our board members and my father told me last night that he had been told by the board member that it was between Melbourne and Collingwood. That the Melbourne board think they are favourites and they expect an announcement this week.

I note that on another post which came originally from Demonogy that similar things have been said. This information is completely independent of that which is also meant to come from a board member and thus I have come to the conclusion that there is a high likelihood that this is true.

I don't think it's anything more than educated guess work at the moment. If Melbourne is one of the two favoured clubs then that's a massive coup. If we are his preferred destination then it will be a feel good football story all round. If he wants to go to the Pies I'd expect that West Coast would make them pay dearly...

What any of the above say doesn't count.

West Coast make the final decsion - where Judd wants to go is irrelevant.

West coast want a certain type of deal and nothing less. They have to be happy first

I think you'll find its the other way around !! :)

How do you figure that?

His sole reason for leaving Perth , publicly stated, was to join his family in melb, and he wouldnt enter the PSD.

To now impose a further condition is unlikely to be his style, given the Eagles have acceded to his key request.

The rest now is up to west coast to get what they see as a fair trade deal.

It's both ways. If WC think they're getting screwed, why wouldn't they make a deal with Richmond for Pick 2 plus Deledio for some WC muppet that will never play a game, knowing the tigers would get Judd in the PSD anyway?

Port weren't bright enough to do that with Stevens but Hawthorn were with Rawlings.

You purport that WCE will decide for him where he's going. If that was at all close to the truth then Judd wouldnt be talking to clubs, he'd just go where Nisbett wanted him to go. Makes no sense whatso ever.

He, and he alone is driving all of this, WCE is absolutely and very much a apssenger. Alll they can do is 'react' to what Judd decides and then make the best fist of a trade that they can. if they dont. They get nothing. Its as simple as that.

Despite any real rhetoric Judd isnt really going to care too much (maybe a litle little bit..lol) about the fortunes of WCE now; he's concerned with his own.

he had no hand in where he went first time...you can be bloody sure he is in control this time :)

Judd will state a desire to play for a club.... I think he will probably talk to the Eagles first about whether there is any likelihood that club can satisfy the Eagles demands before any public announcement is made. You can be damn sure that one of them will be able to. No club that is listed as Judd's prefered option wants to be known as the club that let him get away... with maybe the exception of Collingwood. lol.

i think it is a typical stand off:

what are west coast prepared to accept.

what are the other team prepared to offer.

judd wont go in psd.

judd can say he will agree to a trade to one side only, meaning another side cannot just try and trump in.

but one of the three things have to bend. i hope its what west coast accepts, if its us.

if west coast dont bend they lose him for nothing. if the other club wont offer enough they wont get him. hopefully west coast just want to get whatever they can and run, knowing that they've lost him anyway. i wonder if judd will be part of the negotiating process? im sure he wouldnt be happy if a club traded half their team for him...

I agree that in all likely hood Judd wouldnt opt for the PSD; but he can!! And WCE doesnt want to force his hand. A mexican standoff is sort of close.. its just Judd has a gun and WCE doesnt !!! lol

WCE are playing a version of the ol' 3 card shuffle, getting everyone to look one way whilst reality is something else :)

I'll tell you now, if Judd comes out and says 'Melbourne', WC will be not far short of ecstatic. They would be loathe to give him up to Collingworst, and Essendon to a lesser extent. I'm pretty sure we would be the favoured destination for WC out of the 4. We may have to pull a few interesting strings in trade week, say to get pick 5, to top off the deal, but if Judd says the magic word we WILL do a deal.

Probably the only thing Judd will acede to is to name two clubs. if that happens our stocks go up dramatically :)

I must confess the inclusion of Essendon in all this has all but mystified me

Despite any yelling and screaming teh real basis of a trade to WCE is an early pick, An early pick plus "something" is the most likely outccome. WCE want some icing as well as cake. They, and quite rightly so ( from their persepctive ) are trying to set the bar as high as possible. Time will tell :)

Judd makes the final decision and then its upto the club involved to satisfy WC demands. If they can't Pre Season Draft.

Judd won't do that. For three reasons.

1. WC have more power in this whole thing than we all think

2. He doesn't want to go to Carlton and lose for the next 2-3 years.

3. I don't think he is the type of guy to totally ditch the club that gave him a chance and treated him like god. He wouldn't screw them over like that.

If he chooses Collingwood and they can't get something done, he will go to his next option. Either way, WC will get something out of this. He won't enter the PSD.

I don't think West Coast will be too greedy when it comes to trade time. They have to remember he is injured and theres is no certainty it wont effect his playing career. I think they'll want early draft pick and a upcoming forward like Newton or Sylvia, or we will give them early draft pick and bulldogs early pick if we trade robbo. Remembering they could have local players they have there eye on which aren't far away from AFL level. When you have priddis, kerr and cousins there will be no need for another midfielder, so TJ is safe.

what real power does WC have?? it wil be told..go make a deal with him or him !! ;)

If he didnt want to go to Carlton why would he have them on his shortlist ?

The past is the past.. Judd is lookig forward. At the end of the day he is not the eagles master, they are just sh!tty that the boot is on the other foot and they dont like it.. tough bikkies !! I think they are dead lucky personally that they will even get any chance at dealing inthis whole business. B)

My understanding is our board expect an announcement this week. However, according to todays Herald Sun, Chris is going into surgery on his groin tomorrow. This being the case you would expect him to make an announcement today, Friday (maybe too close to Grand Final) or next week after the GF.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
