I have a good family friend who is on the Richmonds top caterie (if thats how you spell) group. He sits in on team meetings about the club, potential off-season moves, and contract decisions. He says Richmond are extremely keen on getting Mclean to the club, and they believe he wants to go there.

This came as a shock to me because I believed Brock loved our club to much, and I still think he does love us, and is grateful for his oppurtunities. However according to this family friend Brock has said a few times to his family that he would like to play for Richmond, being that his family ties are there with his uncle.

I am not 100% on this and while it may never ever happen, as I assume it won't, I will still prop up when I hear such an in formed Richmond man say the Tigers have been considering him since about round 12 this year.

I don't know if I would like the idea of Mclean being out of our club, but if we could somehow get draft pick number 2 for him, I would be very happy.

sounds like [censored] to me...but all stress and worry can be removed with the answer of one simple question...

is he contracted for 2008?

Id assume he is but that won't really make a difference. If he would happy to go like ive been told, and we want Judd, then it would all happen no worries.

Hmm, Demons 32 I've been reading a few of your posts over the last day or so, esp. regarding the C. Judd issue. You're truly an optimist aren't you! Lol. Anyway, let's hope you're wrong about McLean in this case...

I've never heard of a coterie member being on the board, and sitting in on match committee meetings, and having a say in trades.

Short of the president, I'm not sure who would be involved in all of these, and presidents arent members of coterie...

This is one guy who does sit in on meetings. Not just some mate, he is a family friend.

The way im looking at it is that the Tigers want him, and they ASSUME Brock will want to come back to his club with family ties.

However what they assume is most likely not true and Brock wants to stay, in my opinion.

are u crazy. cmon guys its brock mclean. he is our next captain for sure. While last season wasnt as good as the one before, he did have a few niggling injuries. If we trade Mclean, we are losing a young, hard as nails leader...take the risk of replacing him with a pick 2. the chances are that he wont be as good as him..especially in a weak draft.

You would think number 2 would be passed on to get Judd anyway. No offence to Mclean but I know who I would rather.

If McLean departing enables us to catch the big fish, then I'm all for it.

McLean wasn't so brilliant after all.

It's not just about being brilliant. I think Brock plays for the jumper not for celebrity status like some players. He's had a bad year. But so did the MFC.

He's contracted, and is in line for the captaincy.

If it looks like [censored] and smells like [censored], it probably is [censored].

McLean is an extremely loyal guy. He ain't going anywhere.

Judd + McLean + Jones = World Domination :D

McLean has stated, in print, that he will never leave the MFC, and plans on being its captain

I'd settle for AFL Domination but the more the better!

PS. See Stewie on the Emmy's last night???

Well im not making up what this person has said. Never claimed he was 100% right though. I don't think Mclean wants to go. I do think Richmond want him.

But what you have said has pricked me to say, he is not in line for captaincy right now. He won't be captain next year. And contract doesn't matter if he agrees. I do not think we will let him go but if he agreed then contract doesn't mean sh*t.

If McLean wanted out, there will be 15 clubs making enquiries.

He will be in line for the captaincy, if not next year, then certainly the year after.

Richmond are desperate to get some quality onto their list. They should realise though that they haven't got anything we want.

Besides, I can't see us talking to anyone but Judd right now. He is priority number 1, 2 and 3.

Lucky I didn't stand in it

I can't see him going anywhere, it just doesn't seem like the type of person to leave a job unfinished.

Hardly a weak draft mate...kreuzer,Cotchin, Palmer, Ebert, Selwood, Rioli

do your research

Judd is our next Captaon

But Brock should be vice captain in 2008

However according to this family friend Brock has said a few times to his family that he would like to play for Richmond, being that his family ties are there with his uncle.

Consider the fact that Uncle Ricky played 39 games for Richmond and 19 for Carlton but that Grandpa Rod played 119 for Carlton.

I'd say the family ties rest with Carlton but having said that he's also more likely to finish at Essendon being an old Aberfeldie boy.

The top 10-12 players in this draft are as strong as any in previous seasons.

it is past pick 20 that it becomes a little shalow and more of guesswork

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
