It's that time of year!

Robbo on the Bulldogs: "They are a great club and, if you were going to play for another club, they would be a place you would like to go."

Since when has one premiership in a club's 83 seasons in a competition been an indicator of greatness? Comical statement.

Robbo should bite his tongue, swallow his pride and sign a two-year deal before he gets sent to some club he doesn't want to go to. If he's playing well enough in two years time, which I think he probably will be, he'll get a contract extension.

We can't just trade him for some of the slop being bandied about on here though. If you trade someone like Robbo, a proven goalkicker, matchwinner and membership-seller, it has to be as a part of a deal that is going to significantly better the club. Unless we're going to get Chris Judd or a top 10 pick in any deal involving Robbo, I'd kiss the idea goodbye.

I love Robbo, but he is being an arse.

He shouldn't be dealing himself in the media like some sort of cheap hooker.

If he wants to weigh-up other offers, fine. Just keep it out of the media Robbo, FFS!

He should take the 2 years and move on.

I would be really [censored] off if he chooses to leave a club that has plucked him from nowhere and made him a great player, over an extra year. In fact, it will probably make me stop supporting him in the way that I have over the last 9 or so years.

He has been flapping his gums in the media all year on a range of topics when he should be focussing on on field contributions.

And he is red and blue thru and thru! <_<

I love Robbo and will hate myself in the morning for saying this, but he is about to turn 29, has had several injuries lately and is playing a selfish brand of football. He doesn't do any of the 1%ers. He flies for marks against team mates in a better position. He shoots for goal from impossible angles and ignores players in a better position. That said I would like him to stay, but if he insists, I don't want another Bizzell deal. Maybe he would look nice in Red, Blue and White.

Maybe getting involved in a 3-way trade is the way to go. Robbo + 3rd rounder to the Dogs, Doggies give ???? to a team up in the 8, we get that teams 1st rounder.

Or maybe Robbo and our 2nd round pick, for the Dogs 1st round pick. Just some ideas (and don't forget that it is being seen as a shallow draft)

But i'd only trade Robbo if the price is right. Coz despite his flaws, when fit and on fire, he is one of the more lethal forwards in the game.

Robbo has confirmed his "interest" in going else where. I say let him go...his heart does not "bleed red and blue " like he continually lets us know.!!!.... LOYALTY ROBBO!!!!!!

and that's the thing. it's clear that, in reality, the dogs appear the only side interested in giving robbo a three-year deal.

but as a 29 year old with a history of knee troubles what is he worth in a trade? given that they used, what was it, a third-rounder for aka then perhaps a 2nd rounder for robbo? not enough for mine. and not farren ray. he's just like tj - no muscle development and skills that look fantastic but misses targets surprisingly frequently for one so skilled, and exerts no defensive pressure (which may have to do with the muscle issue).

i think you can safely rule green out of being traded based on comments made from officials at the club. he's considered a leader.

but, as most of us have been saying for about 3 years now, one of tj, green, or bruce must go for the betterment of the overall side. it's just a matter of what we can get from them to best maximise not only our benefit but the trading club's as well. i think a player like bruce could really benefit a developing brisbane midfield.

of course, we may not involve ourselves in trade week at all, with bailey chalking up our shocking performance in 2007 to poor preparation, poor gameplan, then a poor injury run. we shall see.

Too SLOW??? are you kidding me?? mcmahon, played in the right position with the right people around him could be very handy- players that go to another club seem to usually play better. Maybe change for him would benefit his footy and a mcmahon or gia or somebody that has a bit of pace would be an idea trade for robbo

Outpaced repeatedly by Col Sylvia when we played them. Too slow for the type of player that he has to play on.

Really dissapointing from Robbo, and i don't think we should take the risk of giving him an extra year. I hope he settles on being at Melbourne for two but if he can't then let's trade him and go hardcore on it, if the bulldogs don't give us what we want then send him to the PSD.

I don't want another Bizzell.

PS. I'm a fan of Robbo's but this has really hurst me.

I won't be. As much as i love him, he's served the club well..and if he's being difficult..then let it be. Signing Yze for the amount we did was also a mistake that has bit us in the backside...we couldn't delist him/ask him to retire cos he's still contracted

Robbo is past his best, and not in the 'future' of the MFC

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
