Is anyone else having problems getting on to 'ology ?

Long live 'Land !!!

Every once in a while all internet sides experience problems. We do as well for technical reasons that are way beyond my understanding. Please be patient and I'm sure Demonology will be back on line.

In the meantime, Demonology posters are welcome to post here (but please note that we have separate boards for other sports and general items.

The Server that Demonology lives on died.

The ISP have moved all sites to new hardware and an updated version of Micro$oft software ( a planned move that had to be brought ahead) which is incompatible with the programming language with which I used to write the Demonology.

I understand they are awaiting parts for the broken server (today?) which will then only host Demonology until I complete the re-write of the site in a new language.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Geez a total rewrite sounds like a big task mate!

Appreciate your dedication to it all.

Yeah ... I know! I have to learn the new language as well!

Hopefully a philosphical step is not required such as a move from procedural to object-orientated?

I remember the transition from C to C++ did my head in a bit at uni but eventually helped me grasp single inheritence stuff like Java and C#/VB.NET.

Why not use a platform like this?

If it costs money I'm sure the loyal demonology crew would ante up.

They're quite passionate.

The site design is as object-oriented as I could make it with the language. I have written a lot of stuff in Delphi.

The Forum is just a small (although most used) part of Demonology. There is much more to it.

Aaah okay, I'm from a J2EE/.NET background so that stuff is a bit foreign to me.

My web app ventures have all been classic ASP, ASP.NET and JSP/J2EE.

Hmmm ... I don't think it is.

It is on a new IP address. It will take time for your ISP to see the change. That time will be different for each person.

It may take some time for you to be able to "see" Demonology. As explained in my previous post, it has a new IP Address. It takes time for that information to "travel" between ISPs.

With this rewrite, will it be more like this forums format? Thats one of the reason i din't like posting on 'ology.

Does anyone speak English around here?

Anyway, it's back up!

I can't get in PK and I don't have any magic.

And PK used an old thread.

Good coaches at Demonology.

someone said demonology's been locked down 'skills32', any ideas?

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
