Well it was good to send the bizz, choppy and brown dog off with a win, but i for one am glad the season is over, some good points for me has been the form of jones, dunn looking like a run with midfielder, Newton as a key forward, Pettard's form before his injury, Bode starting to show a bit and i think the last few weeks will hold him in good stead.

these are just some, but bring on trade week and the ever entertaining chilli boys post's

Absolutely. I can't wait for the preseason to begin - unlike previous poor years I think there's more promise with our list than in other years, but I also think it's time for some hard calls to be made in relation to trades and delistings.

after tonites match, jamar is gone , i think he played for blues in that match given his kick to whitnall

Both Jamar and PJ were worse than awful tonight.... Fergs and Wardy have probably played their last matches as well. Even with half the side out - it was still frustrating to watch so many blokes murder the ball. I wonder what will happen to CJ? He got more of it tonight, but gee he goes missing far too often.

Nobody has really said anything yet, but I'd like to thank Mark Riley for his coaching efforts, coming into what was an already very difficult season.

Tonight marked his last game as 'coach', and who knows if we'll see him next year in an assistant coaching role under Dean Bailey or as something else.

But thanks Mark none the less for stepping him at such short notice and doing what I thought was the best you could do. :)

The reception given to Biz, Pickett, and Browny especially at least brought a smile to my face. It clearly meant a lot to Nathan that the Dees fans stuck around to cheer him off, and he really has given his all to this club.

Wierd night really, but at least the years over.

EVEN THOUGH THIS YEAR WAS TERRIBLE IM GOING TO MISS WATCHING MY BELOVED DEMONS PLAY ON THE WEEKEND.....

BUT ILL SACRAFICE NOT SEEING THE DEES IF WE DOMINATE NEXT SEASON!!!

I'm feeling the whole gamut of emotions at the moment, many of them conflicting.

A small part of me is glad we could get a win for the retiring boys who deserved to feel the winning feeling one last time. Especially Browny.

A small part of me is annoyed that we won. That part of me feels very dirty.

A small part of me is annoyed we didn't beat them by 150 points.

A small part of me is angry at the competition and its drafting rules for robbing me of the "winning" feeling today. It felt hollow.

A small part of me is missing the footy already.

The overwhelming majority of me is just glad this nightmare season is over and is counting down the days til round 1, 2008.

One of the hollowest victories I have expereienced. Ho Hum.

Great post Nasher.

At least we beat Carlton twice this year and outdid one performance metric from last year.

Worst season I can recall and with less interest than I have ever experienced. Even 1981 I enjoyed more.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
