I don't know about Davey/Bell , I would rather see a Green/Johnstone trade . Bell's season had been fairly good up until he got injured but this season's been a [censored] mess i wouldn't know what to do.

Oh and to anyone who suggests he's not one of our best, he's been up there in our goalkickers.... and add to that he doesn't have a LOT of competition.

True, this year he is fourth in our goal kicking(by average):

http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/tr-melb...rt=TA&st=GO

Which is pretty decent considering he has spent a lot of time in the midfield. Davey is having a bad season no doubt, but isn't pretty much everyone? Next year I think the creator of this thread is going to be eating some humble pie, because davey, in my eyes, still holds a very valuable place in our 22.

There would have to be one hell of a player or a top 5 pick to even interest me. He's exciting, when he gets the bell, even if it's 100 meters from the goal the melbourne crowd are on the edge of the seat because they know with one dashing burst or one chase down he can lift us all.

We're not going to trade him.

Davey is an absolute excitement machine. OK this year is not his best but he isn't the Lone Ranger there is he?

When he gets the ball and goes for a run it is just magic waiting to happen. He is an absolute joy to watch and to trade him would be a joke.

Same goes for Ding Dong. He was coming into his own until injured this year. He has the makings of a good footballer, just needs a bit of luck to come his way.

No way are these two going anywhere.

don't talk rubbish bluey, bell is an AA backman in the making

I'd trade Sylvia if we can get a first rounder to use on a KPP for him. I am not convinced he is ever going to live up to his billing.

that's interesting, considering we do have a lot of very simular players like him, i.e. jones, mclean, moloney, and moloney could play a pocket just as well as silvia, and hopefully after recovering from his injury will stay injury free, unlike silvia who gets injured hailing a taxi. could be an option for 2008.

add adding to that, i think he should be traded for a decent CHF or CHB. maybe a ruckman? ...can you trade a small for a tall in the AFL? who's got excessive talls that needs a small?

on saturday night it showed why belly and dazzledavey should NOT be traded at all!! and occo im still waiting on my 10 reasons why belly shud be traded?? so far ur excuses have been [censored] ass weak!!

Trading Daniel Bell is an idiotic notion.

A hard, tight, fast, athletic defender, who can use the ball well when his confidence is up. - Trading that, from OUR defence? And I use the term 'defence' very lightly.

Add to that all the investment we've put into him, and all the improvement he's made, and still some upside to come, idiotic.

Would have to be one hell of a trade.

if davey , bell, green, bruce or tj are traded i will go absolutely apeshit. imo all of these players are instrumental ingredients to our recent successes (2004,5,6) obviously bell only last year or so. sure we have had a crap year but to cull our better players would be idiotic and a kneejerk reaction unbeneficial to our great club. GO THE DEES

None of those midfielders you mentioned could play forward anywhere near as well as Sylvia.

Injury free Colin will dominate.

Were there many people saying that Melbourne should get rid of Bell?

I don't think anyone did.

He had a question mark at the end of last year but he has proved himself this year & will keep his spot providing injury etc.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
