Love this.

Reminds me so much of Fritsch with his marking and goal sense ability

Welcome Paddy!

Fritta was also an electrician when signed from Casey. Hope they have similar careers!

Got his number? I need some work done at the house 😂

Paddy Cross (angry)😁

Good pick up for a few reasons, 1 hopefully he's a very handy player, but also, we have Melksham who is coming to the end of his career - surely it's his last season, so could be a replacement and gets to learn directly from him or even for Fritsch who will be 30 before next season and is also a free agent.

Another local recruit from STH Gippy.

I like it - no go home factor.

How many Gippy boys have we recruited in the last 2 years?

3 or 4?

You probs don’t want Fritta as your sparky. The first time I stayed at his parents’ house, in his old bedroom which is now a guest bedroom, I saw that the light switch was positioned only centimetres from the door handle and so when you pull down the door handle you turned the light on whether you wanted to or not. Pauline (his mum) said, “Yeah it’s obvious Bayles didn’t get much experience as a sparky before playing footy full time.” 😂😂😂

It'll be at least 5 by years end when we sign Humphrey

Love your confidence there, Danny 😁

What sort of offer are we preparing?

I'm not sure but we've appointed two of his ex coaches (King & McLennan), drafted his best mate (Matthews) and had our then president wine and dine him in the VIP's at his future training base Caulfield. Groundwork done if he does decide he'd like to come home.

I know nothing about this guy. Who does he play like? How old? Etc

He's part of the new breed of fowards - think big, mobile, runs up and down the ground with great hands. Kinda a hybrid Lockett, Ablett, Dunstall, Cameron, Pedo type. Expected him to start in the reserves - probably as 19th man.

What does this mean? That he's starting on the bench at Casey?

Welcome aboard Paddy Cross I hope that you continue to thrive and kick lots of goals for Casey and eventually Dees. So much change to look forward to, glad that you havE been involved in preseason simulations and know game plan, etc, will make it easier for you to slot into our overall structures whilst you build up your tank.

So as good as 4 of the all time great forwards and pedo But shorter. He's 181cm.

Good thing we are out at Casey…

Think Episode 9 GIF by NBC

From Taylor Whitford.

"He’s a terrific competitor – he plays the game angry – he tackles hard and he’s ferocious. Sometimes he might not get a lot of possessions but it’s the little things he does that the coaches are always rapt in. And he’s a goal sneak – he can kick a goal, Paddy boy. I think he’s got the ability to find his way into the AFL, without doubt.’’

I just hope we keep him in the #64

Taller than Laurie but shorter than Mr Ed.

Was Sinnema and that NGA big unit already taken does anyone know?

Welcome Crossy, just curious

General Fwd: Fritsch, Chandler, Sparrow, LPickett Melksham, Johnson, Cross (A), McAdam, Henderson (A), Mentha (B), Matthews

of this bunch only 2 (our latest draftees Pickett and Matthews) are contracted beyond this year. Will be plenty of movement.

Good luck Paddy, showed plenty in the intraclub. I think he flips his VFL 64 for no. 46 at AFL level

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • PREGAME: St. Kilda

With just over two weeks until their opening match of the 2026 AFL Premiership season, the Demons are already well on the path to redemption and have the Saints firmly in their sights ahead of their mid-March clash at the MCG. What do you think the team will look like when they run out on to the G?

  • REPORT: Richmond

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.

The Dees ran another clinic for the second week in a row as they easily accounted for the Tigers in the lightning interrupted shortened match at Mars Stadium in Ballarat.

  • VOTES: Richmond

Kozzy Pickett was the man of the match last week and has a vote lead over backup ruck Max Heath who didn't play this week and 5 votes over former Saint Jack Steele. Who gets the votes in this weeks shortened match win over the Tigers? Your votes please. 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 & 1.

It's Game Day and the 2026 AFL Premiership season is almost upon us as the Demons take to the field for their final practice match before the first ball is kicked in anger in 16 days time. What are you expecting to see from the Dees today as they take on the Tigers at Mars Stadium in Ballarat?
