Worthy of SSP spot and getting a good 12 months conditioning into him?

He'd have to be under serious consideration after today. He should have easily kicked 5 on Adams.

Unfortunately I just dont see how a list spot opens up anytime soon.

Paddy Cross is another they would look at heavily. Reminds me so much of Fritsch in his draft year at Casey.

if a list spot were to open up, would you rather have paddy cross or tairen ah mu? both look like great players

Paddy Cross looks a likely prospect. Tairon Ah-Mu; has some potential afl attributes, Casey gig is a good opportunity for him to further develop.

Edited by Tarax Club

we are down talls with may and campbell unlikely to play for some time, and petty recovering from a concussion

ah mu should be the #1 lti injury replacement player

He’s moving better a bit lighter and more confident, less fumbly. I still think there’s a limit to his IQ and skills that make him better used as a role player but given how light our midfield stocks are he’ll get chances.

The one flaw in his game that still irks me is his desire to always get back on his right side which often means going back in traffic. Especially from centre bounces and stoppages where there’s equal numbers and space. Just go forward and chuck it on your left if need be!

He has speed and power in a straight line, he doesn’t have elite agility, baulks or fends to be trying Petracca moves!

I couldn't agree more with all of the above and it's probably why you need Windsor or Kozzy in the centre bounces with Sparrow.

How did Onley play? Not much mentioned about him.

He found the footy a bit but has no authority when in possession. I'm sure it will come with confidence but he needs to drive forward with his legs and with the football.

Were they calling Van Rouen “rooter”?

Must have had a big summer!

Did we win ?

Possible ACL for Tom Green at GWS from their inter club. Thank goodness we came through ok!

Saw most of Q2 and Windsor looked very good. Excited for his development as he's got the attributes to be a super damaging attacking midfielder. What a waste last year was rotting in the backline. Hopefully he learnt something at least as part of his development there.

Would be good to hear from Kingy post this intraclub.

He hasn't done a lot of media which is fine, there probably hasn't been a lot to say but I think it would be good to hear his thoughts now.

you know that age old debate about which player would be the best to have 22 of to win a game, ill go with 22 of anyone named pickett

And Byron could rest in the backpocket. Only required if opposition gets untidy.

lindsay is gonna be a helluva player

of all our kids, he's the one that excites me most

Yep, really impressed in his first year, a lot to like. a very good all round game. I'd say Langford is the most exciting for me but Lindsay close behind.

Kingy was in Nova 100 yesterday I think. He spoke well. Pretty sure you can listen to it on their website :)

Windsor lived up to pre-season hype and Lindsay looked as accomplished at half back as I hoped.
The two that surprised me most was Kolt off half back (offensively and defensively) and Howes where ever he was playing (was it wing).
Sparrow got more than usual but turns back into traffic or dump kicks too much for my liking.

JVR and Jeffo certainly had a spring in their step early. Jeffo looked a level or two improved until he came down after that mark (could not work out if he played much passed that point).

We played with more freedom, handballed, switched and chipped more and took the game more forward via the square than the boundary.
There was a lot of turnover and poor set shots but not surprising to me this time of year and with the amount of top Dees missing and Casey top up participation.

who took kick ins? I think I saw Lindsay take one at one point (admittedly turnover Fritsch goal :/)

Tairon Ah-Mu - might be in our NGA but we won't get him sadly folks....

What are you talking about? His draft year was last year, we could’ve had him if we wanted to

No - Sinemma was the NGA we could have taken but didn't.

Pretty concerning that Adams with three years development got easily beaten by an 18 year old who wasnt even drafted.

Pointless bringing up academy status when both Ah-Mu and Sinemma went undrafted.

If we wanted either we could have taken them and chose not to.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.
