Go well, Jai. Prep yourself for a massive 2027.

He's only 23. So plenty of his career left. He can also turn to the captain for advice who has done 2.

Gutted. Wishing Jai a full recovery and return to the team.

schwartz 2nd and 3rd ACL’s felt worse than this. Jakovich’s back, Charles’ wrist and Tingays leg were up there too. But yes… this is definitely a real low isn’t it.

Same. I think it's because he came back from a serious injury - and worked his behind off to get a new opportunity, break into the team and then well and truly settle himself - and he's looked great! So unlucky. He'll be back. But yeah so gutted for him. He's exactly the sort of player you want around the club.

Is he the same Tom Morris who said we were moving to Waverley 4 weeks ago?

Sadly this is starting to look like our worst trade this century. Even worse than Ben Kennedy for Jeremy Howe.

We swapped Howe for Melksham (funnily enough because Howe refused to play back and Goody thought Melksham could do it), far from a great result but not the end of the world. We had to get a 2nd rounder back in to trade up with the GC for Oliver.

Whatever we lost in that trade we made up with by a whole lot more swapping Cal Ah Chee for Clarry.

We traded Toumpas for Ben Kennedy.

Feed them some crumbs and you keep them on side for the big stuff.

Lindsay didn’t play at either level, someone’s going to ask questions and Lindsay’s groin was already mentioned on Demonland.

People carp on him but he gets a whole lot right.

Considering Ghosty also said few weeks back that she spoke to Lindsay who confirmed he'd miss a few weeks on the groin then what he has reported is indeed accurate.

He is reporting facts. Just wish it came from the club first.

Thank you Sharpe.

13 to 8 loss on the clearances.

Ouch.

Max needs to impose himself.

Miocheck is lost.

These posts (no picking on you specifically DV) are why I never follow the match day thread

I understand he gets a lot right I just find his whole being below that of a rat. I took a cheap shot, not my best but I’m sick today so it’s the best I had. As a frequent visitor here you know how good my posts usually are. 😎

I hope Max is ok. He looks like he is carrying something more than a sore shin. I thought he looked slimmed down, even for him.

Im sure like the No. 11 ruck before him, he will play through it.

I think my MFCSS slip is showing.

Might be the effects with being tunnelled and kneed in the back in the ruck duel that he didn’t receive a free kick. I’m sure he received a lot of unnecessary hits during the game as well.

DEMONS CHECKING ON PETTY

Melbourne will spend at least the next fortnight attempting to rule out vertigo or any heart concerns for Harrison Petty after his worrying goalsquare incident last week.

He had a battery of tests last week and is waiting for the results after he was helped off the field a week ago against Brisbane Lions when he was unable to stay on his feet complaining of dizziness.

Melbourne has diagnosed him with delayed concussion but is keen to rule out any other concerns and will take its time with the key defender.

Journeyman ruckman Tom Campbell, 34, is expected to retire in coming weeks after battling a neck issue that saw him in a neck brace for some time.

He is joining in with some training but is expected to call time on his career, so with Jai Culley out with an ACL tear the Demons would have two vacant list spots.

The Demons are one of the clubs interested in former Sandringham Under-19 star Xavier Bamert, who put in star turn for the North Melbourne VFL side on Sunday.

Bowey, Viney, Salem, Rivers, Lindsay, Petty, Melksham and now Culley if I’d have told you we’d have all those players out for a good chunk of the first 7 rounds and be 4th you’d have institutionalised me.

Hope we can get some boys back soon, we’ll be scary if we ever get a majority of them back and in form.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.
