That’s going to make you rather ancient rjay as l’m no spring chicken.

I don't feel it (most of the time) but I guess I'm getting there.

I did the speaking course with Geoff when I think he had moved off his on air positions, his partner in crime Don Kinsey (also an old radio man from 3DB) was heavily involved in running the Children's Hospital appeal.

This is some sort of affectation she employs while interviewing people. She doesn’t speak this way in everyday conversations.

Possibly nerves, some people wind up like clockwork springs when going public. Speaking to daughter number two, long distance today she’s doing it!!! 😱

I've heard it with a few presenters/interviewers lately. As I say Geoff would be turning in his grave but it seems like it might be a thing, a bit like in language where we now have "learnings" and we "versus" a team.

Not a big fan...

Edit: Sorry Thomas for derailing your thread, I think you will be a great acquisition to the club both on and off field. Looking forward to following your career.

No, his father Geoff was the voice of the ABC for many a year.

...before your time I'm guessing.

edit: He used to run a public speaking course with Don Kinsey...one of his big no no's was the upward inflection at the end of a sentence. Said something along the lines of people can't take you seriously when you sound like an overly excited teenager.

Yes, I did their course and they were great for improving my diction, pronunciation and confidence in public speaking. They worked very well together.

I was gunna do it but thought Yeah, Nah, I speak proper so no need.

I am liking this pick more and more as the days go by after seeing and reading about him.

The dynamic aspect of his game his so impressive. Speed, endurance, leap, ground ball work it's all there. The low centre of gravity could make him pretty menacing, from the limited footage his defensive tackling pressure is great and makes opponents feel like they're in quicksand.

These are the picks JT generally excels in.

Gee - can't believe the nitpickers and pendants on here taking pot shots at our media people, and even our ex media people. Really? Nothing better to do in the off season??

It’s called having an opinion.

Doesn’t SHE?

Have the new players been briefed on avoiding the Ghosty hug at training?

It's probably not you 'Robbie', the spell checker/auto whatever on here does some very weerd things at times.

I think its always good to get the Gippsland Power lads. A lot of the power youngstars end up at Casey if they don't get drafted. When you are from Gippsland, you are used of the long travel growing up, so the Casey issue is negligent to a lot of the kids drafted out of Gippland, or any already in the AFL system. The more Power kids we draft the better, so long as its warranted.

Not just on here... the other day my Outlook tried to autocorrect "Hope you're well" to "Hope your well"! 🧐

“Avoiding”? “AVOIDING”?!!!!

I’ve told almost every one of them it’s in their contract and if they don’t believe me they need to get a very powerful magnifying glass and check out the finest of fine print on the bottom of their contract.

CJ said he couldn’t find his contract but it doesn’t matter because he likes the hug at Gosch’s.

So there!

Spaniards would advise against it.
