The 2025 AFL Draft Thread

Featured Replies

I suppose when gold coasts plethora of academy kids are decent in a few years and their contracts are up, gold coast will not be able to keep them all in their salary cap. so other clubs get a chance at top level blooded players.

I'm following the draft on the AFL website.

I see that Nat Edwards still EMPHASISES every second or THIRD word and bugs her EYES when she is talking to CAMERA.

Yes, especially noticeable when all the male presenters have such perfect elocution.

I reckon Essendon will go X Taylor, Lachy Dovaston and then Sharp. They probably know we are more likely to take Dove than Sharp

Peter Dean was my under 18's Murray Bushrangers coach and is now involved with the Lavington Panthers footballer club.

Tough bastard but one of the greatest blokes you'll meet.

Well done to the Dean family!

I might go and watch Titanic and hopefully once that finishes we might be nearly up to our first pick.

Hoping we take Dov with one of our picks we need more fire power and allows kossi 75/80% midfield

Not happening.

37 into 30 already. Bid on Annable should bring in further.

David Swallow looks like a physio. You know how physios have that look?

Hi everyone. Just tuned in on Kayo.

Another Suns Academy pick. Have we ever had a Melbourne Academy player?

Gawd awful coverage. I will bebjn a nursing home by the time their talk fest is over.

why do they dilly-dally so much, they all already know what they are going to do and who they want...

they have their points calculated, and the players they want listed. especially at the early stage.

And if they are unsure... just look at what Cal says and follow that.

But bloody hell.. get on with it

RIP Mac Andrew

Twomey with late mail that we may take Pickett with one of our first two picks.

Mentioned that if a club pick Grjl then we likely wont as someone will slide.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
