Oh have a cry.

that alone is more than you and all other fake internet tough guys combined.

I am sorry but so what? Should we settle for no flags for another 57 years?

Time to move.on, love the club.

Why would I be crying? Very happy hes gone. 🎉🥳

I find it very disappointing. My favourite Demon. But he's now out of the favourite players list on Demonland, and I've had a year to prime myself for this. It's happening and we move on.

2nd round draft pick at best for him now i reckon

plus half his salary.

that's the worry now. Why do we always seem to end up in these situations where we are on the back foot , and leaks etc devaluing our "assets"

Firstly I don’t accept he was “booted” out, he was finally challenged (as opposed to coddled by Goody) and he threw his toys out of the cot like a petulant 2 year old.

Secondly, it’s ok to be upset, it’s another thing to spit in the eyes of the people who cared for you (supporters, Gawny) on the way out the door.

The guy was the best player Melbourne has seen in 60 years. Surely that gives him the credit to play his own way. His inability to change his style isn’t his fault and isn’t the clubs fault for moving him on.

His wry comment about the club is likely done out of disappointment and frustration that the club he loves no longer wants him.

So happy this unprofessional cancer is gone. Great time to be a Demon supporter.

Relax, his comments were funny and flippant. He has had a tough few years. Don't blame him for having a go at the club

I wonder what max is thinking about this, losing his 2 Mids

From a holistic stance he'll be ( most likely ) somewhat melancholy but he's resilient. I'm sure he's bitterly disappointed that the gang is breaking up but I have no doubt that probably very few people know Claz quite like he does. He went out of his way and took this wayward lad under his wing. Tbh I really couldn't give a flying duck about #5 or #13 now. Make your bed, lay in it.. Seems some are keen to 💩 in theirs before moving on.

Max is a thinker. He'll be processing in overdrive. But hes quite pragmatic and realistic about things. I genuinely believe hes looking forward to what a new-ish Melbourne might look like and play like.

And add to that he'll be a bit wizzed off too.

I feel for Max.

Unfortunately King is doing what should have been done 2 seasons ago, winning b&F,AA& flag dosent excuse you from poor behaviours which impacted on the whole team

Drain the swamp!

Good work the new administration!!

No. You play the role the coach and club wants you to play.

He's a Melbourne immortal. He helped deliver our first flag in 57 years and won the BnF and AFLCA award in a premiership year. A freak footballer.

But if you can't show leadership at almost 30 and your toxicity overflows onto those around you, it's time to go, despite whatever you've achieved.

She's a keeper

Immature petulant child with an attitude problem who needs to grow up. Used to be a weapon in close with his handballs, big fall from grace. Always more to the story

What a pile-on. You can’t fault Oliver for being brutally honest in saying GWS and/or Collingwood’s training facilities are better than Casey. He speaks the truth and yet he’s still crucified for it.

That's why people go around telling fathers if they have an ugly daughter. The truth must out! There is no intention to offend. Just got their eye on the Pulitzer Prize.

Definitely feel sorry for Max.

He's stuck his neck out there for Clarry for years and it's arguably all been for nought.

In the space of 72 hours Oliver goes from dodging Cleary at the airport to giving the same news outlet Cleary works for a headline to round out the first day of the 2025 trade period. The man is predictably unpredictable.

GWS have picks 13, 34 & 36

Might we prise out pick 13? Of course that's his guernsey number as well

That's my tip but we'll have to pay a sizeable amount of his salary (?)

Reckon that's more than a fair trade considering it could cost the club $3.5Million

n.b. Pies first pick is #38 (no thanks)

He has been booted out of the football club… most of us would be feeling the same if you were in his position.

He was not. He was asked to perform a modified role. It was unacceptable to him that the rest of MFC would not let him do what he wanted without interference or consideration of MFC's wider interests.

2 hours ago, Dannyz said:

He can save the parting clips, for the club was willing to take all the clips on his disgusting and pathetic behaviour in the 23 off season.

I would wager there was no swipe and the article lies for clicks.

What odds can I get for Clarry 40+ disposals vs Melbourne next year?

Still love Clarry, he’s clearly annoyed at what’s happened, a reporter shoving a microphone in his face isn’t helping.

This is like a bad break up and we are all the friends who have to pick the side we knew first - even though we love both 💔

It's sad that it has come to this but I think, as a supporter/member, I'll move on pretty quickly. He'll no doubt play a blinder against us next year but it's big picture time now for MFC so short term pain is acceptable.

I understand the shock factor he had but he seems to have a low EQ.

Also, watching some of his antics in change rooms after games (on TV) had me scratching my head at times. Lads will be lads but shoving a theragun up your clacker for a laugh is 18yr old stuff not 28.

Either way, for his sizeable contribution to our first flag in 57 years, I wish him all the best and thank him for his service.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
