No one was being called Delusional. I was referencing a poster who used to post under that name.

Wasn’t referring to you, Somereset.

Thank goodness. Coffee time

Is it 7:40pm where you currently are? If so, coffee is an unwise choice. Caffeine has a half-life of 6-7 hours.

You’re welcome 😃

Nope, just waking up over here, though do have to pace myself for some afternoon naps as I prepare for an 11:30pm cricket start time

And by cricket pray tell you mean the third Test and not Big Bash. Coz if it’s Big Bash then we can’t be friends. Not that we even are friends but you know what I mean

What's Big Bash?

And that’s exactly what I wanna hear 😅

Big Bash is a form of entertainment disguised as a game of cricket. 20 overs a side and if delayed by inclement weather it can be as few as five overs a side. Loud music peppers the play; not just in between overs but in between deliveries. There’s fireworks going off regularly and extremely annoying rev-up guys on the mic. It’s designed for folks with the attention span of a moth 😁

It’s just not cricket (literally)

Still not there yet huh

@dazzledavey36 you are the king of retrospectively picking people off or giving them the ‘I told you so’

You are so staunchly against Oliver but revel in bullying the hell out of anyone whose opinion differs from yours.

This thread could be many different things for many different members, he’s had an enormous impact on the club even if the last few years were not ideal.

By all means, have an opinion but there is absolutely nothing to say yours is more important than anyone else here.

Here's the replay.

The game starts at 0.00 time with Max Cox jumping early and driving his hip into Max Gawn's head.

Hill gets a quick pair of goals early, then thanks to Brayshaw's effort, Collingwood's lead is back to 1 goal after just 50 seconds after Hill's second.

After the incident -

12.08 on Brayshaw, "Such an important player for Melbourne, as well. His flexibility - he can go inside, he can play half back, half forward.."

Another commentator; "So with Brayshaw missing so little football, this team doesn't know much footy without him, so its going to be really interesting for Melbourne losing such an important player for their team."

Bailey Laurie is the sub trying to fill those shoes.

Melbourne gradually regain composure, in particular our midfield which clawed back from their worst quarter for the season in the first, to win the contested possession count by 24 after quarter time.

Collingwood do not kick a goal in the last 40 minutes.

The final margin is seven points.

We were never a chance to win the game after our slow start.

To think otherwise is Disneyland stuff.

Collingwood were far the better side that night aside from the last few minutes and richly and heartily deserved that win.

I guess we never had a chance against the might and poise of Mason Cox. Presumably that's why you started the thread about how we should get him?

To be fair we lost 4 close finals, any one of which we might have won. Yes we lost them ALL and I get it… that’s all that counts. But I do think we were close in 22 and 23.

So we were close... 4 times in a row?

We were definitely a chance but we choked. Which is a dirty word here. We simply weren't polished or refined enough in our attack and we panicked often. Hawthorn of 2012-2015 and Geelong of the 2020s wins that game every time with that many entries. What separated us from the great teams was being able to perform on the biggest of big stages: finals at the MCG.

As has been discussed here ad nauseam, list management decisions are the prerogative of the List Management Committee. Neither King nor Goodwin get to decide who comes or goes, not in isolation in any case.

You're saying the coach wants to play a certain style and wants a certain style of player and the List Management Committee overrules him? The coach says he wants troublemakers gone and the Football dept are going to overrule him?

That's not how how it works.
