Big assumption that they will return to the scene of the crime. I myself will be stalking the Caulfield Racecourse Carpark in the hopes that they give BH a tour of where the foundations of the facility may be laid that his future father/son prospect might train at one day. Too soon?

Surely they're heading to the best apiary Victoria has to offer?

Dee’s need to stand firm here, we don’t want picks and in particular we don’t want this year, 7 and 8 likely become 11 and 12 in this draft which isn’t all that strong to begin with, unless wc will give us pick 1 or 2 we need to stand firm, if Humphrey or a similarly good player is off limits then trac isn’t on the table

Our list manager can say to Brisbane, what are we meant to do with picks 7 and 8, recruit a couple of 18 year olds, then what - they will be like lambs to the slaughter.

im expecting this one to go very late, wouldnt be shocked if its right on the deadline. If were going off of the info in here tomorrow we should find out a lot more depending on how the meeting goes and hopefully the trade request isnt to long after if all goes well.

Aaaand what about @Dannyz!

Next contestant on the Price is Right!

It’s pretty simple.

He wants to come to Victoria, and if we could make that deal Happen, he would come to us.

Suns have said no.

It probably rests upon the reasoning behind his move coming out publicly and why it is important to him.

@Dannyz has been delisted from “solid informant” to being rookied as “may know a tiny bit more than us”

I didn’t do this lightly as he’s had some excellent mail over the years. However like the team itself he’s had some proper misses lately. We wish him all the best in his recovery.

We’re hoping that @demonforever doesn’t suffer the same fate but his ranking as “this guy might just know something” could easily fall to “and you’re out” if we don’t receive some good news on BH soon.

I think it rests on GC coming to understand that the only way they get Petracca is to trade Humphrey. That said, if it happens, I expect we'll have to trade Petracca plus something to close the deal.

Welcome back Steven May

Too much water under the bridge on this site for me to check through if it’s been mentioned, but John Ralph said yesterday that there are ‘personal reasons’ for BH wanting to return to Melbourne ( the city ) and hopefully those reasons aren’t just about the money.

But Humphrey having a doorstop saying he wants to go to the Dees would help to be frank.

How exactly? IMO he just needs to let GC know that he's good with it.

I think so too.

On some footy show clip I just watched it was posed to Jimmy Bartel if he was GC would he take Trac and Melbournes future first for Humphrey. He answered yes, especially because of the future first.

I would hope it might look more like Trac and pick 24 for Humphrey

Done deal!!

Maybe it’s just my MFCSS kicking in but I worry Humphrey gets seduced by the Dorks in coming days and selects them as his preferred trade destination.

Hawks have the assets to trade for him and would make it happen.

The only silver lining for us is GC may be more open to including their two top ten picks in a deal for Trac (with lots coming back their way), partly because we crack the sads over Humphrey and partly because Trac becomes more important to them if Humphrey leaves.

IF CP5 goes to GC$, then it may make the Bear more disillusioned as his midfield time may be reduced.

It’s just putting more outward pressure on GC to engage in what he wants as opposed to ‘satisfying’ MFC.

Agreed

Creating a narrative about good will to a player who has compassionate reasons to return home, puts pressure on Gold Coast, and also makes it more palatable when they say "we didn't want to trade him but..."

If it comes out in the wash that Humphrey had good reasons to want to leave, and there was a good deal on the table that gets both clubs what they want, and yet GC didn't do the deal, it's going to look very poor for them. And this industry doesn't operate in a vacuum, what goes around comes around.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
