I loved his quote when he was interviewed at the airport:

“Yeah happy to be at the Gold Coast Suns… at the moment. See what happens”

I wouldn’t be overly ecstatic if I were a Sun supporter with that level of enthusiasm by Humphrey Bear.

I picked that up as well and though that was interesting....

I don't see it happening but if we turned Petracca into humphrey it would be an incredible coup for the club.

Did King coach Humphrey too or is he much younger?

Humphrey played all games under King as caretaker coach aside from the final game of 2023 v North when he was out injured.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but both Humphrey and Flanders both played for Moe..is this a targeted effort by the club to sell the dream of being starting mids together maybe?

Why the [censored] would Humphrey want to come play for us?

We can’t even get Flanders to commit at this stage and his only other suitors are bloody St Kilda and Essendon. Essendon?!!

  1. $$$$$$, freed up from Trac/Claz.

  2. He's from Victoria. Gippsland, in fact, which isn't too far a drive from Casey

  3. He was coached by King at GCS, so they have a relationship.

  4. He'd be playing next to the current AA small forward

  5. $$$$$$

  6. $$$$$$

A real feather in our cap

Is trac and Humphrey a straight swap? The value side of this is hard to figure out

You would have to through in a second round pick as well, the value is this trade is freeing up cap space!

Who is this guy? Can we have some stats for him; something to assess where and how he replaces (or betters?) what we don't have or are losing?

Just 'Moe' doesn't quite do it for me, Gippy though I am.

They can have all our rubbish picks to make up the points they need for their academy boys too

I’ll also throw in a Steven May for nostalgia

Hoping the 'pros' (both senses of the word 😄) on here could oblige.

I would trade Petracca & Dees 2026 1st for

Flanders #4 & Humphrey #5

Carlton’s TDK compo pick for our future 1st. They’re keen to do such a move for Walker points next year. This would satisfy Gold Coast far more. Still unsure whether it’s enough.

If we can turn clarry and Trac into Flanders and Humphrey it would be a great outcome.

And we'll come back for Ben King next year, thank you very much.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

Following an injury-interrupted start to the season, McVee struggled to maintain the standard he established in 2025 as he pursued an expanded role within the team structure. He remained a firm fan favourite and the club had hoped to negotiate a new contract with the former rookie selection from Western Australia, whose partner, Lily Johnson, plays for Melbourne's AFLW side. Those hopes were dashed when he expressed his desire to return to his home state and play for Fremantle. Like all players who have worn the red and blue and are leaving this year, we wish him well in the future.
