At a minimum Humphrey will cost our 2 first rounders and some steak knives and a mega contract. Personally I’d pay it as not only do we get a Tracc clone but he can hit a target…..absolutely invaluable. If we can play some good football at the back end of this season(or better still all season) then Humphrey rocks up we’re also putting up the sign that we’re back in business. Throw Caulfield in and we could just about pretend the rest of the world and its affairs aren’t even happening!

I’m in. Two 1st rounders for Humphrey is the deal. But if it’s not this year, we keep on knocking and knocking on the door. He makes us a much better team and will come home eventually imv.

It starts with 'pay' and ends in 'wall', I'm afraid, Greg.

Copy, synopsis or a 'get-around' reminder, someone?

They may be all in on the player.... but only offer half a tube of Pringle's as trade capital. Surely no manager would contemplate a major player move there after the merrett fiasco last year

Hawks all in on Humphrey. No.1 target

As is Collingwood. As reported on Midweek Tackle last night, they’ll have a war-chest of around $2 million at season’s end.

We wouldn’t be too bad after offloading all of our “talent” which were costing us an arm and leg.

We didn’t pay for anyone we got, not of much significance.

I’d be curious how we are stacking in comparison to afford a big name or two.

Plus we have the Gippsland connections, whether it’s a coincidence or not is yet to be seen. But I know of the respect for Rhett down this way.

I reckon we should have a bit of a war chest (Petracca 1.2M, Oliver about 600-700k, May about 600-700k) plus veteran players retiring at years end (TMac, Milkshake, Campbell, McAdam), less assumed new contracts and probably pay increases to Fritta, Chin, Disco, Langford, maybe X. Gus's contract counts for 50% in the cap next year (circa 400-500k.)

Long story short, we should have enough to get a big name star, such as Bailey.

We'd have less than the Filth at around 2 mil but we aren't in a horrible position (maybe 1-1.5mil)

A lot of cash. But likely very little to sell in terms of winning prospects.

The best thing for us would probably be the Suns holding Humphrey at least one more year.

Have you heard the latest drivel from Eddie everywhere?

Wants to delay Tassie till 2030 because the stadium won't be built till 2031/32.

Just enough time for the scum to load up on draft picks.

Thought they could buck the trend in avoiding a rebuild.

I just can't watch Eddie on Footy Classified anymore, as it is actually Collingwood Classified.

He turns every topic into a Pies' rant.

We might be more attractive to Humphrey if we could secure Barbeques Galore as a sponsor. Oh, wait ...

Concur Picket. The bloke is a fair bit off being a champion and why in hell would he want to come to us when we really don't have a home base or state of the art facilities. Only chance is if we win a bidding war but IMO I would rather go for two decent players that would beat one half decent player.

Humphrey is only half decent? Well, I would take a few blokes at his level even if they are only 'half decent'. He'd comfortably put the sword to a few blokes we have running around.
