HE SUCKS!

Bailey you need to fire this dude, he is useless

He said there’s more to it which is personal and he won’t go into it which is completely fair given the kid is already suffering due to the stubbornness of his club.

I'm with Danny on this one, i think he's just told them that this is coming up again in 12 months, confirmed BH's desire to get out publicly and given the Suns something to think about. It's still incredibly unlikely but this was a last roll of the dice for 2025.

If this is the situation then the Dees need to hold their nerve and hold firm with Petracca and walk away .... for now

Oakes was considered with his wording and said everything he could without making it very difficult for his client to assimilate back at GC.

Sounded more filthy at the Suns than I was expecting but also pretty resigned to the fact that they won't be changing their mind.

Dumb list management from the Suns. Humphrey's not going to be worth more in 12 months when he's even further back in the pecking order.

Sounds like he was equivocal in his answers but it won’t do the club any good if we’re already meeting with GC today to discuss picks

Again, Humphrey and his manager needed to go much harder if they wanted this to get done this trade period

It sucks because I can absolutely see him requesting a trade next year when we’re not in the box seat

I'm lost Andy. Are we now banning @Demon Forever , or are we still waiting?

I wish GC didn't know how much we needed Trac out

We have no hope to call their bluff

Dees need to come out and say deal is off, petracca stays

Will they though not a chance lamb would have already opened the bottle of lube

Won't get done. He'll wind up at Collingwood or Hawthorn next off season.

His manager basically said he wanted to come back to Victoria for family reasons. GC not allowing it this year. Humphrey will try again next off season and push harder for a club he'd want to play at (Hawks or Pies).

Me going back and forth between these two positions and thinking the last position as being dumb is what I mean, haha

He’s not going to lose talent in 12 months and the best they’re getting for him now is our pick or spinning 7 and 8 with who’s future picks? Better to get offers next year from clubs with picks in hand.

Have to think some of the reluctance is Humphrey didn’t really want to join our sinking ship when Hawks and Pies can turn his head next year.

Whilst we’ve become used to Lamb giving overs in trade negotiations, my assumption is that Guerra and Smith won’t be as willing to accept unders in this scenario. It’s on them just as much as it is Lamb. They’ll need to sign off on any deal. The pressure is on their shoulders too.

Sorry Trac, let's revisit in 12 months 😉

If Bailey genuinely wanted to get to Melbourne I'd say it would be getting done, my gut feel is he doesn't want to come to the Dees, still wants to come back to Victoria but just not to Melbourne. I'd bet that if hawthorn or Collingwood genuinely wanted him and had equal collateral for a trade it would be getting done, not enough noise publicly from Bailey, ie like Curnow, Petracca, Merret, Oliver, Flanders etc to satisfy Gold Coast that he is actually serious, they know they will get Trac either way, of course they are going to stay firm on keeping him. We aren't a destination club for young guns, only for a top up in retirement fund players.

bad for us, but good on Cammeron for holding firm on a very promising talent.

Hopefully our team can be just as firm on not trading Tracc.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.
