Plenty of ways to manipulate the list but so far we are:

-7: Spargo, Billings, Fullarton, Verrall, Sestan, Brown, Hore

+2: Henderson, Culley

Strongly linked with 2 more: Heath, Derksen

Probably drafting 2 more: White, Sinnema

Hopefully anyone of quality that we trade brings in quality picks and/or players, but I’d have Woey competing for that last spot in Feb (if he wants it)

I have no problem with those de listings, clearly over the last two year we lost out in the talent pool especially in the 20 to 30 range of players. Add VFL players who never showed more talent than VFL level e.g Verrall. I am no big fan of Spargo and he has become injury prone over the last couple of seasons. He can walk away with a premiership medal that is something a lot never achieve. Changes need to be made!

New coach might give him a new lease on life.

Similar to a new Girlfriend.

🕺👌👍

You have to have a back up small guy to cover injuries that is not a 19 year old, and if he suddenly starts kicking 4 or 5 goals at Casey give him a go. However if a younger small guy plays well at Casey you'd give him a chance first. Insurance value. He is not on the senior list so makes some sense.

Odd debut season - picked for Round 1 after zero practice games alongside his new teammates, then got dropped and never looked like being recalled before his injury. Doesn't hurt to park some experience on the list but not holding my breath for him making a big difference in the future.

My one positive recollection of him in the seniors was when he nailed a set shot against North in an early season game when every man and his dog couldn't hit the side of a shed that afternoon.

Kind of forgot he was on the list to be truthful.

Congratulations Hendo!

So happy for him to have been offered another year. He works very hard and he deserves to be given a go under Kingy, and with the new game-plan. His positivity is infectious. Onya Jack!!!

Totally underwhelmed. I thought Sestan showed more.

Agree Cranky and disposal of high standard.

Like to think with a new senior coach some unheralded players may get greater opportunities to flourish. After being overlooked or undernourished thru lack of exposure by the previous regime.

Jack Henderson does of course have a second bow as a trained agronomist. So his skills could be in greater demand with King Steven’s arrival. Who has expressed a desire to greet and meet not just the old hands but the new crop, first and second years’ green shoots. After all his alter ego did write Children of the 🌽.

And a very good one, at that…

My recollection of Jack is last minute fumble which allowed GWS to score & win the game.

I am neither here nor there on Henderson staying on, i probably think this is a direct result of Spargo leaving as to not completely wipe out our small forward depth though.

Noticed he didn't want to 'put all his eggs in one basket', Chook. You'd have life experience in that area? 😊

A reference to your moniker, Mr Fowler, not your use of oats...

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
