Unbelievable effort by Brisbane to make 3 consecutive grand finals. What a time to be alive to be a Brisbane supporter. Especially when they won it last year. As a supporter you could probably just enjoy the week much more this time and not feel as anxious.

Pies will slide out of the 8 next year. They went all in this year with their list and fell short. If Hill, Miocek and Elliot all go, I'd almost tip them to be bottom 6.

They have an old list and from seeing some of the younger players last night I would tend to agree with you. Where is Elliot going?

Coz same!

I think it's more their limited knowledge of consonants and syllables .

Slight change of topic, but Chol absolutely needs to be suspended for the first 3 matches of the 2026 season. ANB got rubbed out for 4 matches falling forward in a takle in 2020, Kade Chandler 2, Kossie and Steven May also got suspended for 3 matches this year because of invidents that resulted in concussions

Chol has form in throwing his huge body around and giving other players concussions etc and needs to be taught to exercise a duty of care to his fellow players. Asides from that, I've got nothing against the guy (well that and asides for him playing for Hawthorn), but if the AFL doesn't suspend him, it's negligent and corrupt.

However Rodney the thug from the pies got to play in a GF after ending a players career. Never be surprised by what the AFL does.

I have no friends that are Collingwood supporters, ( I choose wisely) but if I did, I would say to these false teeth derro's re the Elliot free kick controversy, nothing to see here it was a "football act"!

Excellent pf, gee for once the pies got a poor decision at the G never thought I would see the day!

Warwick Capper perhaps?

Nup he's got himself banned from the G. He won't even be able to attend. That's what happens when you make sleazy comments

How nice to wake up this morning, relieved we don't have to hear about a pies/Cats gf.

Funny reading how filthy they are with pendles playing knowing he popped the calf

I'd be shocked if Elliot left the pies. But if he can a better offer & more money then he probably would go. That would be a massive loss

there were plenty of missed free kicks on both sides

umpiring was below standard for both teams but collingwood were looked after

Nah, [censored] that. Brisbane 3 Grand Finals in a row with a stacked list with Allen, Draper and MAYBE Ridley to come in.

Still salty about how we arguably made them believe again after having them on toast in terms of past match ups and squandering so many chances in that Semi Final.

At least if Collingwood made it, you can at least accept the cliff is fast coming for their list and can take solace in knowing this could be their last chance. Brisbane however, will contend for the next 5+ years.

Ahhhhhh, good morning all!

How good is footy? Haha

This is how people in the rebellion must have felt the morning after Luke blew up the Death Star. This might be better actually, I wasn’t there when the Death Star was blown up, but, I reckon this would’ve been on par at least.

So after winning the flag in 2023, Collingwood have won 1 final, against an Adelaide side that [censored] the bed supremely.

They’ve clearly prioritised the now and not the future in those two years, trading multiple good picks for Schulz and Houston, adding Membrey too.

It’s not Melbourne 22-23 levels of failure…but how far off is it?

Lions record for the last 7 years

  • 2025 GF

  • 2024 Premiers

  • 2023 GF

  • 2022 SF

  • 2021 SF

  • 2020 PF

  • 2019 SF

Haven't been out of finals since 2019. They won at least one final each year. Always in contention.

That is what a Dynasty looks like!

They actually went out in straight sets in 2019 and 2021, @Lucifers Hero

Indeed, there’s a small argument that their win over us in the 22 SF was the monkey off the back that they needed to charge into the 23-25 period of utter dominance.

In 19-21 they went 1-5 in finals, including the aforementioned straight sets exits, plus losing the 2020 prelim at home which would have led to a home Grand Final. They hadn’t won at the G in years, IIRC. But after winning their EF in 22, they knocked us off, and despite losing the prelim to the eventual premiers in Geelong, they may well have developed the confidence that’s led to them going 8-2 in finals since 2023.

Fair enough.

Maybe I should amend that to the last 4 years is what a dynasty looks like.

Would love it to have been us with their record.

There is no way they are letting Elliot go and I haven't seen that Hill wants to go.

I will have another comment.

In other parts of the world, life is mot good, bit here in Demonland Life is fine because the Colliewobbles arise again

out in straights twice and they didn’t sack their coach? weird

A little while back, someone on Demonland mentioned that smallish AFL content producers needed to include pro- Collingwood stories. I guess it's akin to needing positive stories for the Indian cricket team.

To my mind, we now have commentators and whole media groups that are now nothing more than disingenuous sycophants.

End of minor rant.

Geelong and Brisbane are great sides of the last decade, we could have been that but fell away too easily, whether it be selfish players, poor coaching or whatever, but hopefully the change we needed has just come with a new coach.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.
