I'm on Brisbane then the Taliban.

The Storm prelim final is set for Friday night before the GF. Smart marketing by the NRL but fans of other teams are complaining that because the other prelim will be played on Sunday it's 9 days rest v 7 days.

Storm really doesn't get the media coverage in Melbourne that it deserves. Strange given that the Age, 3AW and Ch 9 all have the same owner

10 preliminary finals in the past 11 years - that's just extraordinary in an environment where almost every Storm player is recruited from outside Victoria.

ninefax knows who butters their bread in vic, and it's not the nsw-based nrl run by horseman

Filth, Puddy tatts & poos/wees in last 4. Could hardly be worse.

I'm an MCC member but won't go to either match this weekend. And if the filth make the GF, I won't go to that either.

I can't see Brisbane winning again this year with their injury woes.

I've pretty much lost interest in the season. Which reminds me ... I need to cancel Kayo.

Can't wait for the Lions to dominate against the Pies and for the Pies to somehow pull it out their [censored]

Such as disappointing bunch of prelims as ive ever seen. Arrogant hawks vs vanilla cats. Awful pies vs broken lions. Dont really give a rats. Bring on trade weeks!

The fact we’re not there deeply disturbs me but they are likely to be cracking games of AFL

I love that you call it ninefax

The guys at macrobusiness call it Domainfax (although earlier called it Costellofax before the airport brouhaha 🤣)

I'm sorry but I'm hoping for a hawks v lions gf.

Look at it this way. If it is then next week we won't have to hear about Collingwood or Bailey smith in a gf. And Chris Scott can ship off to.

We all want Collingwood to lose, but I can't agree with you about tonight's game.

I'm hoping that Geelong knock over the smug, cocky Hawks so I can spit on their grave. Hawk Tuah!!

Hey guys/gals,

I am catching up with a friend tonight to watch the footy at a pub. I live north of the city, he lives south. What would be a good pub - CBD or Richmond - to watch the match?

Thanks in advance.

Currently in the city & so jealous seeing all the cats & hawks fans on the other hand with us not making finals there's no nervous tension.

The irony is I'm going tonight & am actually looking forward to watching as a neutral

The Royal Hotel in Punt Road was always a good spot to keep abreast of events across the road at the MCG.

Isn't there a sporting globe in Richmond?

I will watching Better Homes and Gardens with the Mrs tonight as I still dont know which team I hate more.

That would be the block, where you are meant to hate all the teams whilst they work on home and garden….

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #42 Aidan Johnson

The VFL premiership player was recruited from Werribee to alleviate Melbourne’s forward line woes and give a chop out in the ruck, but he managed only five senior matches in his first season at the club. At times, he was a dominant force at VFL level.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #44 Luker Kentfield

An exciting young key forward, Kentfield was selected in the 2024 mid-season draft but has yet to make his AFL debut. He was sidelined by a severe bout of pneumonia over the summer, which consequently limited his pre-season. Upon his return a month into the season, he commenced in defence but ultimately impressed with his progress at Casey, particularly in the latter part of the season as a strong marking goal kicking forward.

  • AFLW REPORT: West Coast

Melbourne’s response to last week’s heartbreak was emphatic, as the Demons delivered a statement win over West Coast at a windswept Casey Fields. All of the pre-match hype surrounded the coach’s box matchup of Mick Stinear up against his apprentice, Daisy Pearce along with the gloomy weather forecast. In the end, it was less about tactical chess and more about Melbourne’s relentless execution. With rain looming, the DeeArmy and early birds snapped up the best undercover viewing spots.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.
