God this league is so corrupt, 33-16 frees in favour of port Adelaide which keeps Collingwood in top 4.

You canโ€™t tell me itโ€™s not all scripted.

Ugh what a night.

Collingwood can't miss top 4 now (unless GWS beats St Kilda by some ridiculous margin).

If they finish 4th (which is what will happen if Brisbane wins), they'll get Adelaide in the first final. I can just see them winning that. Adelaide, without Rankine, haven't made finals for 8 years, pressure on.

Ugh.

Logic says GC beat Essendon by 60+ on Wednesday, but the pressure on them now, knowing it's win and win, is extreme. They crumbled tonight against a side that statistically was as bad as West Coast has been over the last 6 weeks. Surely they don't drop the Essendon game...surely...

Wow wow, umpires trying to get Port over the line, this comp really is corrupt

Got home from the game, flicked it on the game to see the last 40 seconds & saw alir block king then tackle king without the ball.

Have Collingwood finished top 4 now definitely?

Typical gold coast to stuff this up. They won't do anything in the finals. They're wasting a spot.

Part of me wants essendon to win.

Three conspiracy theorists walk into a bar.

You can't tell me that's just a coincidence.

Nah gold coast are just useless

I know Collingwood have a couple of weeks off but they aren't the same dominant Collingwood. They've probably lost Howe for a few weeks, if you tag daicos he hates it & there backline is still vulnerable

Gee all the games are boring today. I get why the afl have put all the better games on tomorrow but gee thank goodness our girls are playing today

Yep good old Adelaide oval where so many team's dreams have been crushed by cowardly umpires.

How sad to see the GCS not play finals because the maggots deemed Mac Andrew to be in possession of the pill.

That umpire is a dill.

Let's start calling them all out.

I'm so tired of these incompetent umpires destroying good games and last night quite possibly a finals birth.

It's just every single week.

I get it's a fast and tough and changing game to adjudicate but that was a true HOWLER.

It's most likely turning fans off.

Not that GCS have a myriad of them but it doesn't just happen to them.

Way too often at these interstate venues with loud parochial crowds it happens all too often.

Are the umpires afraid?

I probably would be but they can organize some decent security.

Do your job you maggots.

11 holding the ball frees to Port to 1 for Suns.

I saw 10 blatant frees not paid to the Suns in the last quarter, several close to their goal.

The commentators said the umpiring was extremely poor and I think Riccuto said it was as bad as he has ever seen.

I thought Dimmasโ€™ head would explode.

Oh yes.

I forgot about Wednesday's game.

I hope it's a fair game.

33 to 16 free against the GCS at Adelaide in ports favor stank of fixing.

It was just the lopsided number. It was the unrewarded tackles.... inconsistent calls.....not 15s.....where they were always paid.

It was close to the Kings bday game for us. Close I said.

Thanks heaps for reminding me.

AFL draw is a joke! Cats have played 1 top 8 side in the last 8 weeks GWS and lost, whilst enjoying % boosters & inflating their ladder position, this needs to change as playing bottom teams whoโ€™s season is over, this needs to be fixed as other top 8 sides are not getting the same fixture running into the finals, in fact it may be harming the Cats as they are playing nobody before the finals

I hope they cop Brisbane first week & get beaten on the G

GWS vs Saints tomorrow might be competitive but it looks 50/50 whether Jesse Hogan will return this season. Fingers crossed he does return

But the Eels/Roosters NRL match followed by the Man City/Spurs clash (both live on Ch9) that will get my attention tonight

However, the 2 big AFL matches tomorrow are a must-watch! So much to play for!!

Brisbane & Doggies to prevail is my tip (so go the opposite as I'm a shocking tipster!)

And a shout out to any NFL fans ... we've got a NFL thread on the site that is nearing 500 pages!

There's plenty of banter and we run 2 tipping comps that have been operating for 13 years ... and counting! (Regular & Post Season)

We could do with a bit more representation from the AFC as most of the participants on the thread follow the NFC teams

I reckon theyโ€™ll struggle to beat Brisbane or Hawthorn. If I were them Iโ€™d be hoping for a narrow Hawthorn win, which puts Collingwood 3rd.

Why is the Suns game on Wednesday? I thought there is usually a pre finals bye?

Half the West Coast side look like they are wearing their house deposit on their arms and legs.

Was supposed to be opening round but postponed due to poor weather.

No I mean why isnโ€™t played on the weekend?

or least give them a 6 day break

Ah, ok, sorry. i was wondering that too. Maybe they're trying to get it done as quickly as possible to finalise the top 8 and give the teams involved certainty in terms of their opponents, preparation, etc.?

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmyโ€™s inclusive bannerโ€”"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwoodโ€™s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.ย

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
