It doesn't help our cause, but Melbourne are confident of us getting him. 2nd meeting occuring and he loves playing under King. Money wont be the issue and Gold coast have the final say as to where they go as do Melbourne with Trac. Ultimately Trac had no option than selecting GC unless he wanted to come back to us.

St Kilda Offer: Pick 7 and $875K

Melbourne Offer: Trac for Bailey and Flanders (Both between $1M and $1.2M) and some picks.

st kildas cap must be heaving

we cannot let them beat us on salary for flanders

Its not that type of relationship, we don't talk daily or anything. For what its worth, MFC are laughing that the media believe Flanders to Saints is a given. It may happen but its far from done.

The leaks will stop fairly shortly and even the info I am given now will most likely halt. A lot of the information that I am told I just hold out to see what happens. Like anything, some things do happen and some things don't but in general he is usually spot on. Few misses, but more often than not he gets it right. He doesn't just regurgitate what the media says.

E.g. Media View

Flanders - St Kilda Bound

Humphreys - Not leaving

Melbourne View:

Flanders and Humphreys - To melbourne (Few things to get in line but this is the intent)

Their player manages have got wind of what Melbourne is trying to do and have now come for Humphrey. We are in a strong position!

He let me know a meeting is occurring with Humphreys and Dees staff this weekend.

There is a play for Bartel (Next year) and Scarlett as a defensive coach (Part time but trying to convince in to Full time)

That is all I can remember as we talk about a lot more than just footy :)

keep it going please...

Our intent is to not have many (High end picks) only the picks that will bring in White and the academy, trade requirements. All our top end picks that come out in the wash will go to GC

Appreciate the detailed responce. Hope like hell Flanders and Humphrey chooses us and all falls into place.

Don't give up your day job.

The mole will be gone within a week but will not look like a sacking

Trac and 'manager'?

Even though we say we want to keep him

Humphries and Flanders and we are back baby!

Hopes....... ARE UP!

What could go wrong?

Either way, I love the intent of the club

Love your stuff DF. Keep it up

So if it's Humphries and Flanders, white and Sinema, and possibly FA Checkers from Pies, how do we fill the remaining list spots?

We are delisting/trading a quarter of our list, ie. 11 players

Flanders is not coming to us, Jack Steele told to explore options.

Flanders has probably told them he’s nominating them.

Imagine going to that team. Yuck.

So within the space of an hour, we've been told by a source that we are getting Humphrey and Flanders, to now being unlikely to get either.

I think the maligned journalists have a better record than Demonland sources.

I’d be more sure with how our team sits, compared to what St Kilda are bringing in this year that we won’t be getting either.

Whilst I think St Kilda are poo, they have a ground to train at, and brought in some decent players and resigned others.

We have literally nothing to offer. Losing our big guns. No stadium. It’s really not ideal to say that we are in a better position.

Appreciate the goss @Demon Forever but not sure how that washes with Humphrey’s manager categorically shutting a trade down

Understand it could be posturing etc but I wouldn’t think he’d meet with the club just days after that statement

I don’t entirely disagree with you, but when MFC says someone isn’t leaving, especially when it comes through the media, we all know it’s often a negotiating tactic.

So why wouldn’t it be the same for GC and Humphrey? Especially since the language they use does not completely shut the door.

If I’m GC of course I’m saying we won’t trade him, and if I’m his manager, I’m also trying to get him more money from MFC, so of course I’m gonna say he’s a GC player.

Thank goodness for the rule of law and due process. I assure you that if ever someone made unsubstantiated claims against you, that you would be eternally thankful they exist.

I can categorically tell you that is not the case. His manager is well and truly on the lookout

No offence, but you also said that Flanders is coming our way. The Saints telling Steele to look elsewhere suggests otherwise.

At this time of year player managers aren't bluffing, and it makes no sense for GC to trade Humphrey even for Trac.

You do realise the Bailey is meeting up with clubs this weekend also. In relation to the Saints, sure they are getting rid of a Steele. As we are with Clayton and Trac. Have you asked yourself why we are doing this?

Ignore the haters mate. Keep passing on the info.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.
