Clarry's wearing the hooped affair of his childhood club, Mooroopna. Geelong just copied the design.

Great idea. Should have done it earlier in the season (i.e. somewhere in the 0-5 bracket).

Huge thanks to Ghostwriter for the photo scoops and Harvey Wallbanger for the training report, great to see the boys in their original club colours and that they are a bit more upbeat. Funnily enough when I played for Mildura U16’s we had a black guernsey with a red sash, but sang the Melbourne theme song. One of the reasons I followed Dees, later in 70’s they changed the guernsey to match the song. lol.!!!

That’s his Coldstream guernsey

Bit the same as Nandaly except I don’t think they had the Dees theme. Ouyen was Dee’s colours and I think the song. Manang Saints/same song, TPG and Sea Lake the same IIRC

Got the same jumper. Comes out on romantic nights with the Mrs..

T-Macs guernsey is a ripper. I much prefer local teams that come up with their own unique design than copy an AFL one.

There has been a lot of change in the Mallee Superunknown, I spent a night in Nandaly in Dec 1963, I bought a very old car in City and was driving up to Mildura got a flat tire just out of Nandaly late arvo and had no spare. Slept in the main St and the gentleman who ran the service station sold me a secondhand tyre and helped me change it. Different times, been by passed now, but still think about when driving by.👍😁

You can’t see it properly in the pic but Max’s guernsey is my fave. It’s chocolate brown with a matte sky blue deep yoke.

Again, you can’t see it properly but my least fave is Jeffo’s. The neck of it looks like that of a girl’s tennis dress. He didn’t disagree with that description 😅

We were there 1989 to March 92. Dad was the State Bank Vic Manager in Manang. The only good memories I have of the place is learning to play golf on sand scrapes at Manang, the awesome spring rolls in Robinvale after playing golf with dad and winning the C Grade tennis comp in 1991.

And Lake Boga pies at the footy, because they were awesome.

Also pea shooter fights.

Oh, Countdown at Chinkapook. That was wild with Andrew Wridgeley and I think Boom Crash Opera.

Some great memories there Superunknown, I’ve been to all those towns you mentioned working with Telecom when all telecommunications went underground and automated during the early 70’s. We saw a lot of country and met a lot of lovely people.

Very funny, not going to help win a game.

Bucks would sort this buffoonery out.

Let’s see all the comedians turn up in a non official club reefer jacket when Nathan takes over.

You should have told him it was only ... for fans. 🤣

Boosting team morale won't help a team win a game?!!

I’ll attempt it. The jumper is not only too short, it’s skintight as well. He’ll take out someone’s eye with his nipple.

C’mon GW, T Mac has a brain, therefore keep your eye upward 😉 (or forward)

Don't forget Woomelang in Geelong colours !

The boys are all in their junior football guernseys. Some jarring sights here: Essendon, Richmond, Collingwood etc. guernseys. Tmac asked me if his jumper is too small (it is) but I said it looks fine. Nothing wrong with a belly hanging out from a jumper, right?

Body shamer.

It's a dad bod.

He should be proud to be a dad and play AFL.

It's much more than most of us men.

Besides those couple of extra pounds come in handy when out jostling opponents.

And it generously gives he's teammates somewhere to rest their beers at the Tmac cook outs.

It's also harder to jumper punch the tighter guerensey or grab hold of one in a tackle.

You need to think outside the box a little more Gw.

Sometimes sacrifices must be made for the good of the team.

I recall warrick Cappa wore tighter shorts so his teammates would hear his falsetto calls more clearly.

Sounds a good management plan.

Keep him away from Moore’s knees.

I hope AJ is first name on the team sheet for this game. Lock him in a room at Casey and feed him raw meat. Two people I have in mind.

My boy Luker won’t be debuting this season. He’s not as disappointed as I thought he’d be. He said they don’t want him in his debut going up against Barrass and Battle, or Collingwood. LOL… they didn’t specify filth players, they must mean the whole side.

Hopefully he will play in the VFL finals

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
