Prediction: we lose and Goodwin’s fate is sealed.

As much as I don’t want to lose to the weagles I think it needs to happen for a new coach in 26

I think today’s game will be telling; has Goodwin lost the players or not? We’ll see shortly if they play for him.

Will be sitting with the happiness of the first 3 qtrs of last week in my back pocket while I watch in WA.

The boys will be primed and ready and lets face it, if all the boys play to 80% of their ability, we will wipe the floor with their tattered feathers. Those smug fans of their's need to know they have a lot more wooden spoons to win over the next decade. Priority picks be damned!

Go Dees, play for each other ❤️💙

Hi all,

Hoping for a bit of luck here. My 6-year-old son is keen to go to the game today and hopefully sit near/with the cheer squad today against the Eagles.

If anyone has a spare ticket or can't make it I'd be incredibly grateful if you could DM.

Thanks so much in advance!

Go Dees!

I can hear it now, Goodwin after an inaccurate 7 goal win:

"It's credit to the players and their mindset shift and what they value, we have learned an incredible amount about ourselves over the past week"

“We’re working our way back into some incredibly strong form and we look forward to showing our supporters what we truly value and how much we have learned”

🤡🤡

Are you Simon Goodwin? Cmon you can do better than that Simon??

Did you get a ticket ?

I’m very proud of everyone’s children for knowing how to walk away from a toxic relationship

Also looking for tips

I was gonna go, but the replacement bus has sealed my fate.

If the players come out and deliver 4 quarters and a 60-70 point win, will that also be telling? i.e he hasn't lost the players, and that they were all embarrassed last week and decided to make amends?

Cos I suspect the media will make the MFC the whipping boys out of this game regardless of the outcome,
We lose and Goodwin's fate could be sealed,
We win < 30pts and it's a poor effort against a poor team
Win by a big margin and it will still be about how we choked last weekend.

Still contend that the first 3Q of last week were some of the better quarters we have played this season, all undone by 25 minutes of madness though :(

If anyone wants my level 1 tickets I can transfer on ticketmaster.

Not yet but here's hoping. 👍

I have tried to get some tickets but I should have done something in May. And I cannot get them. Sorry

If the afl want us to play a home game & expect people to come, schedule us against a Brisbane or Adelaide where you'll get more of a crowd

A mentality of always playing to win vs playing not to lose is an issue for the Demons! Since mid 2022 has felt like this is our mindset!

Love them or hate them Man U under Ferg would always be having a crack until the end. I also feel like McRae at the Pies has a similar philosophy!

Much more enjoyable watching team throw event it, rather than go into panic mode like our Demons over the last few years!

Last week last quarter of the philosophy was turn 46 point lead into over 10 goal win, I’m sure we wouldn’t have capitulated!

Something needs to change!!

Anyone else having trouble with the ticketmaster app to access tickets?

Instead of the good old days where you can print out a ticket with the barcode, now you can't & they want everything to go through the app & a phone

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
