Surely we could give Turner a trial up forward full time a for the rest of the year.

With Petts or Roo to swap.

Your going to coach yourself out of a job Simon.

Petty to defence, Turner forward could only be an improvement.

Nice mark and goal Culley: great pass from Melksham.

Disposals

Happened nearly every week. Half backs rip us to shreds week in week out.

West Coast moving the ball much better than us now.

They were comically bad in the first quarter but it’s a fairly even game now in terms of quality.

Who was on Chesser? Very lazy.

Eagles will surely go into the last quarter thinking they're a chance.

Sniff sniff sniff

Without a ten goal buffer at three quarter time...eagles will sniff a win here.

Then again records are made to be broken.

Simon.must be nervous.

If we lose today the noise for his head will get a lot louder.

Ed Langdon needs to pull his finger out. He is offering this side nothing and again didn’t put his body on the line to contest that mark. He has 6 disposals to this point which is ordinary.

Petty lucky. His positioning was shocking.

Some nice moments, Culley has made this worth watching but what the heck are we doing here the Eagles have so many major outs we are just looking very disinterested in parts.

Umpiring (both ways) down to its usual putrid standard.

Any chance Goodwin can actually coach and put someone on Maric who is cutting us apart? Stevie Wonder could see we need to make the move.

Everyone involved with this game has holiday plans for September. Commentary, umpires, players…..though coaches might be in line at Centrelink.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
