Anderson: May's attempt to win the ball was entirely realistic.

I thought May played it well too. Said he was surprised not to win the ball, the first few bounces were skidding and then it jumped up on the last bounce

If the ball can bounce unpredictably then how is May to predict if he will get to it first or not?

The AFL is a clown show, I'm really growing to hate this sport/competition. Amateur hour all round. Can't wait for the NFL to start again, so much better than the AFL these days.

Clear difference would be Evans got to the ball first. If he concusses May in the process of getting the ball it’s incidental contact - no case to answer and rightly so. This one is going to be harsh of May as he’s playing the ball almost the whole time, but when you’re late you need to basically either not hit the head or do everything possible to avoid it.

Very strange

I'm getting the feeling that the AFL are going through the motions and have no idea how to deal with this incident.

In years to come I think they'll treat concussion like umpire contact. Cause a concussion even accidentally = 3 weeks. The outcome will be that players will be even more reluctant to make contact
