And just like that we are 13th!

jumped the bombers

Jefferson showed some great forward craft for a young player, if he can put on a few kgs and convert more of his opportunities I really think there's a player there

Maynard levels of thuggery from Xerri, if there’s any justice he’ll get rubbed out for 7+ weeks.

What a cowardly individual. Glad maxy got stuck into that [censored].

Big Max is still the standard

Jeffo I believe

I am willing to admit, after the first ten minutes I was ready to end his career today. Credit to him, fought through and showed a bit. Something to work with there. Happy with his game.

Unfortunately we have some serious issues with our 2023 draft picks. Windsor and Tholstrup are struggling massively. Tholstrup no physicality and jogging his way around the game, while Windsor had one touch in a half of footy.

Caleb needs a full game next week for Sparrow.

Well it’s amazing what happens when you kick straight.

Some really good signs today.

Much better than our first outing this year.

Great performance from Melk, Fritter, Trac and TMac was awesome - which only makes his omission even more glaring than it already was.

But obviously soured by the hit on Spaz. Hope he is ok. Bye, Xerri. Whether he meant it or not, rules are rules. Catch ya.

Might ‘only’ by the Roos but we did what we needed to do, kicked well and put ourselves in a position to win 12th position outright next week v the blues 🤣

JVR and Jeffo good today despite not kicking too many goals. Kolt iffy, but keep persisting as he’ll grow with experience.

Lever looks like he’s absolutely battling to get above a jog.

Nothing could ever be that bad.

After the 2nd quarter horror show, that was great team footy today. Big shout out to Fritsch for a 4 quarter team performance.

Gawn's leadership, Trac and Clarry contested ball and clearances, Viney's in and under grunt.

Langford, Jeffo, JVR.

TMac. Chin. Bowey. Salem.

Some real concerns down back, and although Turner had a bad one today, he is not one of our comcerns.

Concerned about Kolt and Windsor's development.

Great to be on the winners list.

Dead rubber in July but still enjoyed that.

Spent the first hour bemoaning the fact I didn’t bet on North and another afternoon wasted.

Second half was very good though.

Demonland’s whipping boys Salem and Fritsch were terrific I thought, Goody’s mate Melksham wasn’t bad either.

Langford does not get enough hype. He’s a stud.

Jefferson on last chance saloon looked great!

North always I repeat always cause nuisance value against us. Zurhaar does it every bloody time and Cooper Harvey kicking 4 was so typical. Good to beat them!

Slow first half but much improved in the second.

Loved melks game. Pure class

Hopefully we can take a lot of confidence from today and stuff Carlton next week

94 point turnaround what happened in those first 5 rounds Selwyn ?????

Sorry for being a tad negative but I had to get it off my chest.

Nice to get a win for a change.

Best unselfish game Fritta has played in a long time.

Tmac should never have been omitted from the team. Cannot understand that one at all.

Hope Sparrow is ok.

Great gutsy win. TMac needs to stay in. What a gun.

Hope Tommy Sparrow is ok

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

  • PREGAME: West Coast

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
