How do West Coast not have a bunch of quality kids coming through after 5 years of being bottom?

i can’t think of even one Trading in trash

The club have become an absolute rabble

and who doesn’t love it?

Voss won’t last the year

Don’t think he is the problem but most fans blame the coach when things don’t work out

On the train back from the MCG. Against my better judgement I still went to this game 😁 Result was not unexpected, at least this means the Voss era is coming to a close soon. I feel for him, was a superstar footballer but just isn't senior coach material (not to absolve some of the players mind you) and he should have been given better support. It simply hasn't worked out.

I still believe that in the right hands with some intelligent list management moves the Blues can be a contender in a fairly short time frame, but remains to be seen if enough levers can be pulled to get closer to that goal ...

Blues are in a worse place than us

and that is saying something

Full rebuild needed i reckon

Such a Tragedy…

Collingwood's teamwork is second to none

All their players look for a teammate as a default move. Total team

Constantly running to space or creating space with pinpoint kicks and handpasses

They make our team look like rank amateurs

Mind you, our players don't have the skillset to play such a style. Sigh

I'm not so sure...

They have a very savvy football person taking over the reigns soon.

Will be an interesting watch.

I do believe they only beat us by 1pt so we can't be that bad

he’ll need to be a miracle worker

name even 3 decent players they have under 25

Off day?

In the rest of their matches they've mostly dominated their opposition

Where as in the rest of our matches we've often surrendered meekly

How can Jayden Hunt not get a game in one of the worst defences of all time?

maybe he didn’t meet team standards or something?

Watch the Blues dump Voss just before they play us and they'll rally for the new coach, whoever that is.

i think our young talent like langford and lindsay and others inexperienced like turner coming through is better, our mid-range players like pickett and bowey are miles better, and our senior players like gawn, petracca, oliver and viney - as down on form as they are - are better

baggers' list is not great

Tune in from 11:20pm for Finey’s final siren for all the whinging Carltank supporters. Hopefully Snapper will contribute with one of his usual emotional rants😁

I get that Voss is probably a dead man walking, but if we lose to Carlton in a few weeks, then the same would have to be true of Goodwin.

The great thing about Collingwood Jack (and I hate them), is not only do they play great football, they are lead by competent people who have a strong value toward diversity. The Pies are leaders in supporting homeless youth and are a big part of giving back to those who are less fortunate, including other minority groups. The Pink Pies group is a very much loved and supported group within their club.

Maybe Carlton should take their lead and the Dee’s connect more with the jk hi Reach Program. Success breeds success.

All 18 clubs do this. The difference is clubs vary in how much they publicise it.

You struck a nerve when you said “The Pies are leaders in supporting homeless youth.”

Did you know we’re the only AFL club to field a team for Sleep at the ‘G each year? Melbourne City Mission holds Sleep at the ‘G, the biggest Homeless Youth event in Vic. with all proceeds going to their Homeless Youth programs. Our team comprises DA members, admin staff (incl. board members) and some of the players even get onboard.

And of Collingwood you say “they are lead by competent people who have a strong value toward diversity.”

Every year in February there’s a huge event called Midsumma Festival which includes a Pride march. The MFC is the only club who assembles an organised group to march under the AFL banner.

The Pink Pies aren’t unique. Most clubs, if not all, have an LGBTIQA+ group who are much loved and supported within their club. Our Ruby Demons are one such group and I believe this was the first of such groups to be formed.

It’s wonderful that all clubs participate in events that give back to the community, but please don’t put Collingwood on a pedestal, above every other club, it’s simply not warranted.

Hopefully Oscar to beat Norris on the latter's home track.

If it's the other way the WDC is wide open.

Storm who are in third place play the Cowboys (12th) in Townsville. As it's State Of Origin week could be an upset. Storm have been hot and cold and have lost a few close ones.

And of course there's cricket with Australia playing the Windies and England playing India in a ripper of a series in UK.

AFL..... does it matter anymore. I'm more interested in the Tasmanian elections and the Devil's saga. (Tasmanian politics are very boring)

Edit... sorry I forgot Wimbledon. With a number of the top seeds dropping is this "the Demon's" year to go deep into the tournament?

You forgot "The Tour" which begins Saturday.

What do you regard as fairly short time frame?

Yes you have some players who could get you some draft picks but a bit like Melbourne your a bit of challenging for a flag.

In no way, am I putting down any club GW. Including our club. Richmond needs a good slap on the back for being the founder to support Midsumma financially.

@jackaub is one, who (to me), in his way, liked posts that was offensive for putting down diversity.

Trust me, I have lived experience in diversity. Midsumma is my jam 😉

Yeah I love Midsumma…awesome event. Never not fun 🎉🥳 🏳️‍⚧️

I just took issue with your praise for Collingwood because I don’t think it’s deserved any more than it is for the other 17 clubs. Folks might get the impression that it is but that’s likely because they see news items centred on what Collingwood does, maybe because of their massive following and that they’re the media darlings.

I’m sure you can understand why I took issue, especially with your comparison when you said, Maybe Carlton should take their lead and the Dees connect more with the Reach Program.

One can only hope

Goodwin worked a miracle and won us a premiership but his time has passed. If we don’t make a move soon 2026 will be a write off

As much as I hate Collingwood, their work in Youth homeless is very impressive. I worked for an agency in homelessness many a year ago, and the work I witnessed by the club was impressive.

No disrespect to Carlton, I take that back. It didn’t read well.

And that is what Goody is trying to find. Kudos to him for trying but I think the fractures in this list are too much to overcome. We were able to put aside the egos for a year or two and it worked. There is a lack of trust in a football sense.

  • CASEY: Coburg

The Casey Demons returned to their home ground which was once a graveyard for opposing teams but they managed to gift the four points on offer to Coburg with yet another of their trademark displays of inaccuracy in front of goals and some undisciplined football that earned the displeasure of the umpires late in the game. The home team was welcomed by a small crowd at Casey Fields and looked right at home as it dominated the first three quarters and led for all bar the last five minutes of the game. In the end, they came away with nothing, despite winning everywhere but on the scoreboard and the free kick count.

The Demons were wasteful early before putting the foot down early in the 2nd quarter but they chased tail for the remainder of the match. They could not get their first use of the footy after half time and when they did poor skills, execution and decision making let them down.
