Do you think PG has deliberately stayed out of being in the position till October?

I can’t answer that. All i know is i have been told PG is involved with the Board now

Definitely some changes but burning the club to the ground is not the answer. That would take 5 years to recover from.

Unlike Carlton we dont have a clubhouse to burn down

Bring in more diversity. Where's our Rainbow flag btw, cheersquad? Indigenous flag too?Love that Goodwin says we want to be a destination club for more indigenous players. More

Another diversity obsessive - sounds like an ex MFC Pres - and didn't that end well.

Here's a tip - most people care about competence not diversity.

In fact I've seen a number of totally incompetent people who were appointed due to their diversity credentials screw things up.

It really is a write off season now. No big calls will be made with an acting pres, CEO that starts later this year and a coach that probably won't know his future until the above get sorted.

Put yourself in carbonite and set the timer to unfreeze in 6 months.

brad green LOATHES being called 'acting president'

he is THE president

And therein lies a problem.

If there was no one in the wings just biding time he ( BD) might have some currency in his belief.

Whether he likes it or not, he is the interim President. And he acts like it

Walks like , sounds like.....

Couldn't really give a 💩 what he or others at the club 'loathe' as personally I loathe being a club struggling to tread water in 14th with stuff all prospects.

If he wants to be taken seriously... do serious stuff.

Things are moving with the new CEO, i don’t know any exact details, but he is definitely fully involved.

That is good news.

We have Pride flags, Pink Lady flags, Indigenous flags, Irish flags and more. We wave these flags during the particular matches to which they pertain. We’d need ten times the number of flag-wavers were we to wave them all, along with our many MFC flags, at every match. We have handheld banners and posters bearing players’ names/nicknames which are also plentiful, not to mention giant heads.

Goody does want us to be a destination club for indigenous players but he has no say in what we hold up. So, on this occasion you’ll have to find something else on which to blame him. But fear not, there’s no shortage of other things, just 10 minutes on these boards and you’ll find more than enough.

Perhaps we could merge the celebration of all of the various causes into one big mega round?

And therefore do something about the shambles if that is so.

Given his lack of visibility and vision Acting in all its meanings is about right

Exactly

Brad is the only guy who doesn't know he will be sacificed on the big board table

If not acting then address some issues of which there are plenty

Diversity is not my interest per se. Redirecting the attention away from the MCC is.

As @Jaded No More wrote in another thread, if I were CEO, I'd be getting the best suited head of footy above Goody I could. That would be my first move.

That new head of footy has some huge decisions to make about list management, line coaches and even the senior coaching position.

I'd also be calling up Monash and trying to eek put an MOU vis a vis a Caulfield partnership with their sports science school.

Diversity focused leaders with high level competency exist in many areas

You are being dismissive and aligning yourself to fake news to think otherwise Cranky.

That is good news.

He would be doing heaps right now, even without starting. Would be finding out issues. Planning. Getting the lay of the land.

CEO should come in and execute what the board wants - deliver on the strategic vision. The questions would be what is driving the board atm? Onfield review, off field review, home base? Lets see what they are set to do by the board, then we can know if they are a success…

You can support Diversity focused leaders & I'll support competence focused leaders.

And hopefully when I next have surgery the surgeon got their job based on their competency not their diversity identity.

As CEO... I would like to direct this question to my General Manager of Strategy and Head of Football Operations, who will answer your question verbatim with prepared key messages compiled by the Communications team.

Yeah let's have a review

It's a problem if you have an incompetent board

Nothing will change until this is addressed realisticaly

C’mon Cranky. My post was talking about competent focused leaders who embrace diversity. Win win situation. They are not exclusive to each other and I support both.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
