Tracc has to have the worst awareness of any of our players, how many times does he kick into an oppo player for a spoil!!!!!?????

I've counted 4 soiled kicks in 5 minutes

The ground isn’t particularly muddy.

Viney has lifted this quarter. He has been impressive

I’ll be shocked if he doesn’t miss next week for that tackle of Rowell. Lucky Rowell has the head of a rock.

Loved the review of the point. Clearly play on but a clear throw 1 m from our goals

Jefferson 1 handball.

Yep very poor!

Regardless of the first quarter, going to be uphill with 2 men down, especially as one was our back-up ruck.

I soiled myself a few times in that opening quarter.

No matter what the outcome that first quarter lack of effort was totally inexcusable. We basically threw the game away then.

He’s just a horrendous ball user, for someone so powerful he should be a weapon with baulks and changes of direction, not to mention taking tacklers on to release to free opponents.

If he doesn’t have a straight line to goal he’s practically useless

you can cancel out the first quarter. No one was getting a possession in the forward line

Gonna be annoyed when Max Gawn trots out the old "We can't be giving up 6 goal starts to teams," line again after this game. No s-- Sherlock. As captain what are you doing about it?

Trying is heart out, as usual….. 🤔

But Rowell not forced off for a HIA check

Good quarter.

Shame we were sound asleep in the first.

The umps were not as heavy on the whistle and it showed.

Actually missed a few opportunities with Tracca burning a few but he was good on other areas.

Well down in marks but at least we showed some intent finally.

Need more from Fritta and Sparrow.

Really getting tired of the same script every week. If it isn’t inaccuracy, it is slow starts that eventually kills us.

Slow starts against St Kilda, Essendon, Geelong cost us the eventual match after trying extra hard to get back into the contest. Looking like another slow start will cost us again today.

Such a frustrating “nearly” season. Could have been top 4 best case scenario.

A decent quater from Melbourne work rate wise and some in-roads made.

I could have and probably should be another goal or two better though. If you're one of those people than gives us a pass and bemoans bad luck then more power to you. Salem's pass then Melksham wasn't quite able to mark, Trac's brilliant intercept followed up by kicking it 2 metres into the man in front of him, good teams don't do these things on a regular basis.

You need to create your own luck in this game. Instead of Clarry sitting on King's back in defensive 50 and whinging about it you need to be first to the ball so some spud from the other team can make that mistake.

Probably not skilled enough to mount a serious challenge today but might see some good stuff if we stick with the process and attack the middle.

And what's he doing before the game to motivate his team to switch on? What's he doing during the week. We all love Max but he has been captain the entire time we've nosedived since 2023. "Trying his heart out" is for followers, not leaders.

Viney being a difference maker when he’s all but shot as a player is an indictment on our midfield group. Especially Oliver.

Same for Melk forward really. Although they’ve hardly had a chance.

Gold Coast's pressure has been elite the whole game. Hopefully they have a bit of a drop off.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
