I hope the whole lot arrives before tomorrow arvo.

It's a Melbourne-Collingwood game I fear I'm going to be preferring to watch.

Mind you, wouldn't a 2025 'Froggy' Crompton be nice tomorrow!😁

CH 9 reporting a COMPLETE copy of the 1964 GF has been discovered in Perth!

Thought to have been lost, with only about 30 mins previously available.

More info as it comes to hand.

Commentary is good considering 60 yrs ago, luv no out on the full & some of the kicking was horrendous

Did the 9 news say it was the full copy found or only the 2nd half?

Just like our current team!!

Drop kick goals on the run, Wow who would have thought

And no surprise how many times a Melbourne footballer is downed after he kicks the ball. Hassa Mann absolutely dominating such a great footballer

How heavenly ironic, finding it in Perth, where we found our 13th premiership.

I would love to know the providence of the tape. These stories can be just as interesting.

So who won the Norm Smith Medal that day ??

I thought John Townsend (16) played really well. Ran like Robbie. What a pity he did his knee. Came back but not as good.

Actually XL runs like him today, fast , light on his feet, balanced and has sgility

No one

Think about it ;)

Thst was a fishing comment,

But who then in Norm Smiths eyes was bog. It was not Neil Crompton cos he was out of position. But he did (apparently) follow his man down the field.

Not sure I was not there. Melbourne were always in finals and I was a bit blase about it.

Even if I did not know it st the time

Go Dee’s. Win it again today. It is our Granny.

Neil Compton BOG in dying stages of the match. Kicks match winning goal, big contested interception mark in final minute to push Demons forward and strong tackle in dying seconds to thwart desperate final charge by Collingwood. Stuff of heroics. A couple of irrelevant observations of the game were ticker tape to celebrate goals, smoking on the coaches bench.

Not sure BOG But a definite hero, and he did win the match for us. Absolutely no doubt

Hassa Mann. Played well but John Townsend. Brian Kennealy and Ken Emselle Were my favourites

wouldn’t it be good for history to repeat

Looked like either Hassan Mann or Brian Dixon as bog? Dixon was said to have had a great 1st half.

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwin’s summer of love. Many issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.

  • AFLW REPORT: Western Bulldogs

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
