He was Speaking about Kozzie’s game and said if “we” trade him “we” should ask for 3 first round picks , not 2.

He’s still a Demon.

Unless there's a serious humanitarian issue in place that calls for Kozzie to move to Western Australia, then he simply just doesn't get traded. End of story.

It is actually fair value. I think we one-eyed supporters need to get proactive and start asking for 3 + Dogga or 4 first round picks.

He doesn't get traded for anything, and I reckon he loves being a dee and hopefully wants to stay anyway. No picks are worth that guy, no way you find another like him.

Get Jackson and keep Kozzie, done and done!

Unless Brayshaw or Serong have a sudden burning desire to leave Fremantle then its a simple no.

Love Jacko but if he does want to return to the Dees, this can be done via a separate trade.

Jordan Lewis always struck me as a person of good character.

Meanwhile, Sam Mitchell must be just about the only Hawthorn champion left who doesn't hate Hawthorn.

I'd love this to be true, Dingo. I think since he left us though he's started connecting more with his original side, unfortunately. Maybe it's to do with all of the premiership reunions they're always having. I believe two of his four boys are rusted on Dees however which I love. He'd be great as a coach or strategist if we could prize him away from Fox.

I notice Goodwin called the team "they" throughout his press conference. Paul Roos was lambasted for this.

I missed that (he's usually a 'we' or a '(our) club' type).

I'll take it that he was seeking to give the credit for all the good things to 'them'. Roos, on the other hand, might (subconsciously?) have been distancing himself from the historically (and possibly then currently?) bad 'them'?

You reckon correctly, YA.

Of the many, many reasons that will see him remain a Dee, a huge one is his relationship with Goody. This should never be underestimated.

Joey Montagna on First Crack went one further and said we should not trade him for anything, period.

He is scoring on track for a 60 goal season while playing heaps of midfield and winning clearances

Top 10 player in the league

I think you may be right. Or there may be nothing to glean from it at all.

I always thought it was unfair on Roos.

I think l have “mis-communicated “.

My main point was that Lewis kept saying we , indicating that he was still connected with the Dees.

He was amazed by Kossie’s game and to stress the point he said he was worth 3 1st picks.

He did not advocate that we should trade K.Just the opposite.

I think another reason is his connection with Clarry.Remember when they went over to K’s community and Clarry piggy backed his gran up the hill?So good.

Exactly, Goody is giving him license to go be the best player in the league.

The balance between on the ball and forward is genius by Goody and the coaching team.

Our new system is taylormade to Kozzie's strengths, he's in the form of his life.

I hope the club are doing everything in there power to approach and allocate the appriopriate time in setting him up to be a Dee for life.

Ill be staggered if we don’t offer him a 7-8 year deal with the right money, why would he want to go when everything on the field and off it is going really well?

He is a leader now with the way he has matured and playing consistent footy, we need to lock him in asap.

Yes! Not long after that beautiful video was released I ran into Jeff Farmer at halftime at the ‘Gabba or Carrara, I can’t remember which one. Anyways we talked about the vid and he said that Goody and Clarrie are now forever considered family. He explained the significance (in his culture) of being embraced as part of their family and how revered this honour is and how it’s eternal.

I hope he's also given him licence to talk finals - see today's Shun (yeah, just this once...sorry...) - outside his process-not-outcomes-tomorrow-this-week mantra! 😄

He was noticeably off the Dees and chips in on Hawthorn when ‘we’ were 0-5.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
