If we trade Sparrow then probably yes. Worpel is a good player, but is he more of the same pace we already have in spades?

    Reckon we're keeping tabs on him in case one of Trac or Clazz are out the door come end of year

    Free agent too so wouldn't have to give up a pick

    Yes. Better kick than most of the team.

    Upgrade on Spaz & Viney. Not sexy, won’t sell memberships but is a good 22 player.

    I reckon Hawks are trying to keep space for Reid and Allen and the other 50 players they are linked to.

    Would be of interest if we do lose or seek to move inside mid stock. Even if both Petracca and Oliver stay, I cannot see how we would choose to retain Sparrow unless he really begins to show something. Personally I'm losing patience as there are other players who would have begged for the level of opportunity and consistent time in the firsts, which he has received and yet not progressed beyond a barely adequate support act.

    Worpel was injured and subbed off barely halfway through his first game of the season, and still had more impact in that game than Sparrow's averages this year or last.

    As always, not 'at any price', but to fill a role to a reliable AFL standard, as a free agent on a realistic salary, it would be a yes from me.

    Sparrow is below average at best

    Can't be decent averaging 12 touches a game

    Is a key cog in the league leader's midfield, despite missing the last few games with injury. A yes from me.

    Not sure why he'd leave Hawthorn when they're on the cusp of potential premierships.

    Probably won't leave given it's early days, but if they are lowballing him it may happen.

    Premierships are good, but at the end of the day it is a job and a short term one.

    He's no bargain bin pick up, he'd probably get a contact over 700k.

    I think the club has identified we don't have enough prime age midfielders and are looking to replenish this area. We may also be planning or expecting trac/koz/Oliver to be involved in a trade end of year.
